Question about 1996 Honda Accord
Engine turns over, but it won't crank. A friend said it may be the fuel pump. Where is the fuel pump locates? Does anyone have any other suggestions? The fuel pump sounds like it may be and expensive repair.
I Have a similar problem, but i have spark, fuel pump is working , i would crank the engine and then check the spark plugs to see if they are wet with gas,but the plugs are dry no gas is coming from the fuel injector

There could be several reasons for the car not starting. The three main things needed for a car to start are fuel, compression, and spark. Take any of these three out of the equation and your car will not start. Basically you need to find out if you have all of these three things. How many miles are on this car? Have you ever had the timing belt changed? does the engine crank really fast or normally? The easiest to check is spark you can get a spark tester at your local auto parts store. I am fairly certain the fuel pump is int the fuel tank on that year Accord. If you can answer these questions it may help narrow down the possibilities.

First u will want to check for spark, a spark tester from your local parts store should do the trick, next u want to check for gas. usually with the honda you can hear when the fuel pump turns on if u just turn the key, just short of starting it. another way to check is to remove the gas filter hose and if gas is coming from the pump to the engine....the pump is located within the tank itself, and you can get to it if u remove the back seat, there should be access.
