If there was A Problem With EGR Valve stuck Open You WOULD KNOW IT as it would have a Performance Problem. I Think its a Falce Code and I Recomend CLEARING CODES and Starting over With a Clean slate. you Should Be Able to Disconnect the POS Batery cable for 30 Seconds to Clear it . try this Before Going to Dealership or Any Shop.

The check engine light comes only when the computer control unit (called the PCM) senses a fault in the electronic controls of the engine and/or the emission system, there are about 200 possible faults that turn the light on, to know what has developed a problem you must have the system tested, this is called an OBD2 fault code test, Kragen and Autozone parts stores do this testing for free.

this happened to me I had a 2006 and what I did was to get over and shut it off, I waited, then I restarted it only check engine light was on I was able to get home, next day took it to dealer, said that a module had gone bad, they replaced it , it worked ok after that, I later sold it ,thinking it might happen again

The coolant fan temperature sensor detects the coolant is still hot, and keeps the fans on. And remains on until engine cools down. Check the coolant when cold for proper coolant level. If fans stay on all the time, check the coolant fan relay. Good-Day! . It will happen more in warm weather than in the cooler months.

Why is my 2005 equinox condenser fan not working?

Two possibilities:
1. The switches in the A/C system aren't turning it on, or
2. The fan fails to run when it has power due to blown motor.
To test find the motor to the fan and pull the power plug off it and make a fused jumper wire fused to the fuse size in the system test run the motor directly with power from the battery. IF the fan fails to run it is the fan motor, if it runs than, it is the A/C system controls that failed.

Should be a relay somewhere in the engine compartment - may be failing. You may be able to switch with another relay to diagnose.
Check your owners manual under fuses and relays.

This sounds like your cooling fan is not running. If you were to stop too long with with the engine idling it would overheat the engine. I hate to be the bearer of bad news but this is a very serious issue. I can have a number of causes, like bad cooling motor, bad wiring or conectors, bad relay, open fuse, etc. Please have it diagnosed and repared before it overheats the engine and possibly damages the engine. If you are stopped in trafic you can place the transmission in neutral and shut off the engine. When trafic restarts you can restart the engine and place the transmission in drive again and continue. Low oil light came on 2005 equinox checked oil it was low there is a ticking sound. I put 2 quarts in started back up, light is still on also still ticking.

The lifters have to be primed with oil. This may take a while. Let the engine run, after a while the oil pressue light will go out, and the clicking will stop. If you have lost oil pressure the engine will shut off as a safe guard so it is alright to let the engine run while clicking as long as you have oil in the case.

Hello: You may have a cooling fan(s) problem. Start the truck, turn the a/c on max, both fan and a/c control. Open hood the cooling fan(s) should be running. If not then you will need hands on trouble shooting. It could be fan(s) motor(s), relays, relay control, ie PCM, wiring, fuse etc. Systematic hands 0n trouble shooting will be needed with a upscale scan tool.
