Question about Mitsubishi Eclipse

2 Answers

Have a 2001 Eclipse. Battery was disconnected to do some repairs. Now, the radio stereo doesn't work There is a CODE message on the dash indicator. Owners manual mentions security code cards. Car was purchased used and we didn't get any cards, or with any remotes either. Now we don't know if it even has the Anti theft system on it? Be nice to get some remotes if possible, but would be satisfied with a code to make the radio work again. Vehicle VIN# 4A3C34GX1E223099, Thanks

I have a 2001 Eclipse GT with the infinity sound system and have recently spliced an amp and sub onto the stock radio. I have the code to make the radio start working again, since I've unplugged it. But the radio is not allowing me to insert the code. What's up?

Contact your local Mitsubishi dealer and they should be able to get you the code.

If you do the work to pull out the stereo unit first and get the serial numbers on the back, a Mistubishi dealer should get you the codes free of charge. Otherwise, you'll probably have to pay 1/2 hour of labor which may be $50-$80

2001 mitsubishi eclipse radio says code just had work done and they disconnected the battery. I don't have the code is there any way to get the code without paying mitsubishi?

Google it. You should be able to find the code for it on Google. Type this: 2001 Mitsubishi Eclipse Radio Codes and hit ENTER. Do not click on the buttons under the seach bar - this will provide better results.

Please let me know if you need further assistance.

My stereo doesnt work it says code on it and i was needing to know how to get the code or how can i make the stereo work and its a 2001 mitsubishi eclipse?

Some radios have an antitheft feature built in. When the power is disconnected (like in replacing a battery or if the radio was removed or stolen from a car) then you have to enter a code to activate it. Call the dealer and ask if they can help you with the code and procedures. Your owner's manual should have the procedure listed in it but the code should have been in the papers that came with your car when it was new. Again the dealer is your best bet. They will need your vehicle VIN and maybe even the radio serial number. There are some web sites that offer to sell you radio codes but I have had good luck with the dealers giving me them free.

My battery went dead on my 2001 galant. I

the stereo may have connection with your anti theft device, drive your car to the dealer and they can reset the device for you at a minimal charge. this should resolve these issues. Good luck

Need stereo code for a 2001 mitsubishi eclipse

Write down the VIN and go into a dealership. If you can prove you're the owner (regi. papers, etc), they'll give it to you. If you're on file with any dealership (you've had your Eclipse in there previously), they can give you the code too. If you've had something at a local repair facility done that required the battery to be removed, they should have used a memory saver device/keep-alive device to prevent the radio locking you out. In this case, they kind of owe it to you to call the dealer and get the code (dealerships and local shops usually have a decent relationship with each other, believe it or not).

2001 eclipse spyder gt radio works but only tweeters come on.If you turn it off and on quickly the door speakers will come on but only the left plays properly. The back speakers wont play at all.All this...

The main amp box is under the passenger seat so it might have gotten wet.
try drying amp.
disconnect battery for about an hour
(before you disconnect the battery make sure you have the lock code to your stereo some need.
re connect battery and stereo sould play fine
if not then you may have a bad amp or speakers

Car stereo says code on the display

You need to access the serial number off of the face of the radio.... You have to remove the cover but it's easy just pull gradually and evenly after you remove the screws under side of radio/dash console. After you get this call a dealership that is mitsu or carry's/ repairs them and in their directory they have a list of codes... I t should be easy enough to get... : ) I had to do this last year when I changed the thermostat and now I have to do it cause I had to change the O2 sensor.. Good luck

Need code number for 2000 mitsubishi eclipse to turn radio on

this is quite a common fault which i hear, the only way to obtain the code is to hope the previoous owner or the person who fitted stereo is wise enough to write it down in your handbook. if it a factory fitted stereo then the manufacturer keps a log of it and will provide it to you for a small fee.
