Question about 1995 Jeep Grand Cherokee

2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee - no ventilation

The blower is running fine. I originally though that the air selection motor was innop. It functions fine. regardless of the selected position, no air is flowing through the system. There does not appear to be any blocked in the blower assemby. What else should be checked?

FOund the problem. The blend air door in the outside / inside air intake into the blower was broken. It had fallen down and blocked the blower intake almost entirely. Unfortunately, I had to remove the entire dash and drop the steering column to get to the blower and heater box. This was a very challenging task. I do not recommend this for a beginner.

After seeing the problem I had 2 resolutions:

    1. drop the blower motor (very easy even with the dash installed) and pull the broken door out of the blower assembly. It draws air from the top so the door will be above the blower motor and can be reached when the blower motore and fan cage is removed. This means that you loose the ability to select outside / inside air. You always get both.

    2. fix the blend air door using a aftermarket solution from heatertreater.net . You still have to remove the entire dash but they have instructions for the fix.

Pull out the blower motor and make sure the scroll cage (fan) is not loose on the motor shaft.

2000 jeep grand Cherokee limited only blows cold air despite c.c setting position. Also what I'm Guessing to be the blower control module hot lead burned through end of wire/ wiring harness/ and circuit...

lead burned through
that's easy
using the wrong fuse size
and the feed is shorted,
the correct fuse prevents the burned wires.

here are the HVAC pages
http://www.jeep4x4center.com/knowledge-base/index.htm?utm_source=cj#service

lots of things can short. in cars. (topic Hvac)
  • the wires.
  • the connectors
  • the HVAC motors (actuators)
  • the blower.

if you had stated the exact wire color and what it connect to exacty
we can state who shorted.

Fuse 1 , 40amp runs the blower. dark green.
Fuse 20 , 10amps runs others.
Fuse 7 runs zone control,,,10A and all 4 damper motors actuators.
see 8w-42-6 pages.

ok you have your FSM and now can find who connects to what.

2003 jeep grand cherokee heater problem

Jeep Grand Cherokee is notorious for broken blend-air doors. This is the door inside the A/C-heater housing that switches the air from hot to cold. You must remove the dash to repair it.

2000 jeep grand cherokee, only blow out a little air even when the blower on hi,,you have to put your hand next to the vent to feel the air

you may have had something fall down into the defrost vent and it has worked its way down and is blocking the air flow thats trying to come out the vents, near the blower motor.also does it sound like the blower motor is spinning on high speed or at a lower speed, you could have a slow turning blower motor.

REPLACED BLOWER MOTOR CONTROL MODULE...Now blower is working but not very much air flowing out of vents! Fan speed is working...it heat and cools. but still not adequate air flow from the vents ..2000...

check your blower hoses to see if one or more have come loose or got redirected or the selector switch isn't functioning properly (is it blowing better on defrost as opposed to floor vents, or forward vents, etc.)
Good luck

Grand jeep cherokee laredo A/C only blowing hot air. Checked refrigerant and it is okay. Any other ideas?

Make sure the compressor is engaged an running, and the dryer is cold,if so,then the temp door actuator motor is not working,it is in the dash mounted on the blower box,the dash will have to be pulled out toward the seats to replace the actuator motor
