the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

SOURCE: PCV Valve location diagram.....

I will assume you you have the Duratec engine (24 valve). It is located under the intake manifold on the transmission side of the engine. Real tough to get out without some real long pliers with a ring type end on it. It needs to be twisted counterclockwise to release it. replace the hose to it while you are there also , they degrade and will cause a vacuum leak.

SOURCE: 1998 Ford Explorer sport 4.0L 4x2 PCV Valve Location

the pcv is located on the rear(firewall) of the drivers side valve cover.turn counterclockwise and pull to remove be careful there are 2 small tabs inside the pcv hole in the valve cover(can feel with small finger) this is to hold valve in place so it wont leak.if you have a oil leak at the pcv a quick fix is to put a small amount of silicone around the pcv o-ring and install.wait hours for silicone to set up.

SOURCE: pcv valve replacement on 2003 ford escort

The valve is located under the thermostat housing facing the front of the car. There is very little room to work with here. You'll have to pull the hose up from the valve then pull the valve out.

Free fuse panel diagram for 2006 subaru forester

Good morning Pat

You can find a broad collection of owners manual sections here at the Subaru website: Vehicle Resources Subaru of America

Location of the panels can be seen starting on page 11-40 of
Vehicle Resources Subaru of America though... no detailed list. How utterly lame. I see Toyota isn't the only ones cramming less and less into more and more manual pages.

Ah, here we are. The Specifications section has layouts for the panels.
http://techinfo.subaru.com/proxy/11758/pdf/ownerManual/011758_2006_Forester/MSA5M0603A_19.pdf starting on page 12-6.

I hope this gets you to the panels and the specifics you're looking for.

Happy Holidays

I have oil in my air filter box on my sugar forested what do I do?

Replace the PCV valve and check for restriction make sure the pcv has vacuum and is working. A little bit of residule is not a problem unless it completely saturated. if its is completely saturated check the oil level and use the proper oil filter and proper weight. For now lets not get alarmed.

98 forester blows oil 2.5

You have a problem with a gasket, basically the gasket on the head of valves, then you only have to change the gasket, this a common problem when the gasket is broke or burned.

Engine timing for a 1998 subaru forester with a 2.5

Since ignition timing is taken care of by the ECU, I guess you are asking about cam timing.
There are several marks to be aligned and if you get them wrong, you may trash your engine so I am only going to suggest you buy a Haynes service manual that has numerous good pix that show you exactly how to avoid killing your engine. And, unless you have a good-size vice well-mounted, compressing the belt tensioner again is going to give you fits.
The Haynes number you need is 89100 but it is listed only as a manual for the Legacy which uses the same engine but there may be less info that is usable on your '98 forester for which Haynes does not make a specific manual.
The later book that I have, 89101, covers all models from 2000 to 2006.
