Question about 2003 Jaguar S-Type

1 Answer

Two problems. 1. jag a noise when down shifting. 2. jerks when taking off

1. When going 20 MPH or above when I step on the gas and the car downshifts it makes a short noise. Kind of like a burrp. About 1/2 sec long. Car has 42K miles.

2. My jag intermittenly jerks when you accerate from a standing start. I step on the gas and there is a short delay then the car jerks harder than it should, not too hard, but not normal.

There is a special fluid additive that you have to add to the fluid in your transmission, simply drain one litre of fluid from the trans and add one litre of this special additive that the dealer will sell you and your problem will be solved.

Transmission shifts up and down above 50 mph. any

that is what they do. if you are cruisin and push the pedal for more gas sometimes it will shift into a lower gear or if your goin up hill or anything like that. Or your goin to slow so it will shift back to the appropriate gear for your driving situation
