Re: my fuel filter will not prime on a 6.2 diesel what...
Hi from the uk if your vehicle is equiped with a manual fuel primer device? and unable to prime f i pump ? no fuel at f i p are you trying to prime with the ignition on ? as the fuel shut off solenoid that is fitted to f i p is elec/ignition on activated so fuel can then be primed into the f i p and then to assist starting just loosen a couple of injectors delivery pipes while turning engine over then retighten the stop solenoid is liken to a temp sender unit ? and is normally located at the top of f i p adjacent to fuel inj pipe connections solenoid has a wire attached to activate fuel valve in solenoid allowing fuel flow and ign off shuts fuel supply if you operate on/off with key ign you can hear click if working? but better test is by volt meter to test if ign supply ok? if you have merely ran out of fuel or just changed filter ? then provided no air leaks on supply fro tank the above should get you started ? come back if you have more info/update? hope and wish you good luck

If it's lubricating oil, you don't need to prime, it is self-priming. If you have a diesel engine, and you are speaking of the diesel fuel and filter pump system, then you should have a manual pump on top of the fuel filter that when pushed down and released, will suction fuel from the tank and push through the filter and to the injection pump. Although, most large trucks use an electric "lift pump" which does this automatically. So if you can be more descriptive of your problem it will help us to help you.
If fuel filter has been changed suspect lack of fuel to engine, Diesels sometimes have a manual priming pump to over come this problem, the cars diesel pump will not easily self prime., although some GM engines are designed like this. Always fill fuel filter bowl with clean diesel when re assembling. A after market manual pump with non-return valve is often fitted as an addition to overcome this difficulty.
check fuel pressure, check filters , bad fuel or water in fuel is a common problem with diesel fuel.start simple, turn key to on ,,can u hear fuel pump. remove filter check condition see if water in filter.they have 2 or more filters. prime pump per manual try again.
not really,if it's a diesel you should have a primer on top of the filter, you have to press that around 30times to prime,if it's gas you should already have pressue with key on after 2sec,check filters and make sure you didn't install them backwards flow.
Sorry.I am not sure on your model but.If you run a diesel out of fuel,it needs to have the fuel system bled.In the book it will say how. Most common is a bleed valve.Sorry I could not help you more on your car but someone from fixya will..I just wanted to tell you what needs to be done.Sorry I could not help you straight up but wanted to tell you what is needed for your vehicle. Thanks
a diesel engine can only cutout when overheating, loss of diesel fuel and air leak in the fuel system. if you know how to bleed or ask somebody to bleed right after it stall, then start the car, if it starts immediately then it is sucking air.
PO229 indicates tps circut inttermitent.
Po300 303 and 304 indicate missfires on cyl 3 and 4.. Was the fuel filter primed before starting the engine? If not ,remove and reinstall filter. Then prime filter with pump that is on fuel filter adapter. Once this is done restart and verify o/k
