SOURCE: Orifice Tube - 2002 Buick Century

Some are in the inlet to the evaporator and some could be in the condenser line. You can get a new orifice tube on autozone for $5 - 20

SOURCE: 2001 Buick Century shift solenoid

It is in the side cover on the valve body. The transmission needs to be removed to access the solenoids.

SOURCE: My 2002 Buick Century is jerking when it shifts

Jerky shifts with an automatic transmission is normally cause by the valvebody in your transmission sticking. You could try to change the transmission fluid and filter but I seriously doubt this will solve your problem. Please rate my answer.

1984 buick century overdrive stopped working when throttle positing sensor went out could this be related

Yes this sensor tells the car what position your throttle is in. if it doesn`t pick it up it won`t know you require overdrive.

The transmission speed sensor mounts in the side of the transmission. It has a wiring harness plug and is held in with a bolt and bracket.

Heater fan speed control only works on 3,4 & 5 on 2002 buick century .\r\n1 & 2 won't work. Is this a fuse problem????

No, it is not a fuse problem. Most likely you need to replace the heater blower resistor. A replacement should be available at your local parts store, and they should be able to help you find it's location. If you follow the wires from your blower motor, they will lead to this component. Usually two 7mm screws hold it in the heater box, but might be 5.5mm (7/32").

I have a 1995 Buick Century 6 cyl. The transmission shifts smoothly and into 4th gear but when I get to about 55 mph it shifts back into 3rd gear by itself and won't go back into 4th gear. What is...

Fourth gear in your vehicle doesn't exist. What feels like a fourth gear is the torque converter locking up. The lockup lockup is controlled by a solenoid in the side pan of the transmission, and the solenoid is controlled by the ECM (electronic control module) in response to several pressure, temperature and speed sensors etc. To determine which component is the problem you'll need a professional transmission mechanic with the proper diagnostic equipment.

Sounds like it's bypassing the overdrive seals. This is the solenoid package. I would put some transmission additive in first, this reconditions the seals. TranX, Lucus are both good.

87 Buick Century, it runs at a high RPM at highway speeds. Does anyone offer a transmission with an overdrive to replace the stock three speed.

There was an overdrive transmission available in that year and most had except for the base cars.If you could find the transmission ( Good luck with that) you would need to change axles , motor mounts and maybe part of the subframe. Both had computer controlled lock-up torque converter but were wired differently and i think you would need to change pcm and do some rewiring. You can buy a lot of gas for the two or three thousand you would spend trying to make a 24 year old car a little more feul efficent. My advice is to save up and get something easier on gas.

My 2002 trailblazer is making a noise when I go over 45 mph and appears to not be going in gear quickly at that speed

Check your transmission fluid level and/or have the fluid changed. If problem persist have a transmission professional at a dealership or transmission shop service it.
