The temperture gauge stay below the normal mark as soon as i put the heater on. it's never happen before!

suspect it could be tank unit this is similar to a ball valve in a toilet .float arm moves up or down depending on fuel level sends reading to gauge situated in fuel tank sometimes part of the fuel pump

look in boot space on the same side Rear fender where the fuel tank cap lid is located where the fuel tank cap is located exactly on the same side inside the boot you will find cable which unable you to operate or open the fuel tank cap lid mechanical from inside when you pull the cable it let's open the fuel tank cap from outside see for the instruction manual for more detail or just visit the nearest VW authorised service centre for hazel free driving do keep in writing for more queries

Hi there, have you got this problem fixed only i have a similar problem on my 2002 golf ? My temperature gauge used to go up to half way and stay there, the engine used to judder a bit when getting 1/4 warm but went away until it got up to the middle point. now the temperature gauge is all over the place and it mostly shows it to be on cold all the time and judders a lot of time (but nothing so bad you can really notice it).
