This is a hard job with lots of small springs and check balls, i would suggest that if you are not a trany rebuilder that you not mess with this one. anyone will tell you a ford taurus ****** are the wrost. these trannys are junk and 90% of the time it has nothing to do with the valve body but rather the pinion gears or clutches and band go bad. better off replacing it. there are bolts on the valvebody that cant be removed or parts come apart behind it.good day, sorry for the bad news, here are some diagram of it.valve body removal taurus ****** - 2_18_2012_11_41_41_pm.gif2_18_2012_11_42_02_pm.gif

Where is IAC system on my ford Taurus

The Idle Air Control (IAC) valve will be a solenoid mounted on the side of the throttle body. The throttle body is the butterfly valve that your throttle cable goes to. Air goes through the throttle body from your air filter.

Will not shift out of 1st gear, not slipping

Did your ford Taurus sit for a long time and not get driven? I heard about a problem like this many years ago with an older car. There are two things that you can do, Easy fix first. There is a product made by LUCAS for transmissions that will loosen up any sticking valves in your transmissions valve body. You would have to use this stuff as per directions and give it a chance to work. Drive your car around the neighborhood getting up to temperature and eventually the transmission will shift into second and third gear.
Now for the harder fix, you would have to drop your transmission oil pan and remove the transmission valve body. As you take apart your valve body( MAKE NOTES AS YOU DISASSEMBLE). You will find a stuck piston or two. Make sure they travel freely along with all the other pistons in the valve body. Replace valve body, pan gasket, pan, new fluid, and this will have you running for sure. Please let me know how you made out. GOOD LUCK.

95 taurus idling too high like it is stuck wide open

Several issues can cause this problem, either singularly or in combination.. Check the throttle body for dirt and sticky carbon deposits. clean the throttle body using a spray can carburettor/choke cleaner, and with the throttle valve held open, wipe out the bore of the throttle body with a solvent soaked clean rag. Make sure the throttle valve is not sticking any where in the throttle travel between closed and open.

Next, check the idle air bypass valve that is mounted on the top of the throttle body, for dirt and carbon deposits inside that can cause the idle air bypass valve to stick in an open position. Clean the inside of the idle air bypass valve with carb cleaner.

If the ignition timing is over advanced, (Specifies timing advanced is10 degrees Before Top Dead Center, with the in-line spark out plug removed from the spout connector housing, and with the idle speed set to the idle RPM shown on the emissions sticker under the hood, with the engine fully warmed up,) use a timing light to check and set the ignition timing to specification.

The throttle position sensor must be installed on the throttle body using the required method or the idle speed will likely be excessively high. Beginning with the battery negative cable disconnected from the battery, and with the throttle position sensor removed, place the sensor in position on the throttle body with the drive tabs on the sensor placed after the drive tabs on the throttle shaft, the holding the sensor on the throttle body, rotate the sensor counter clockwise to align the mounting screw holes in the sensor and the throttle body, Insert the sensor screws into the senor screw holes, into the threaded holes in the throttle body and tighten finger tight. Carefully center the sensor on the sensor screws, then tighten the screws firmly without over tightening. Reconnect the sensor electrical harness connector.

Inspect the throttle valve idle stop screw adjustment that holds the throttle valve open slightly, to prevent the throttle valve from touching the throttle body bore surface with the throttle closed, and the accelerator pedal unpressed.

I cant find the camshaft positioning sensor on a 2001 ford taurus

3.0 overhead valve?

It will be on the drivers side of the motor, under the throttle body, right under the wiring harness that runs under the intake plenum.

I can be replaced without removing the plenum but removing it makes it a lot easier.

Where is the pvc valve on a 2002 ford taurus? and how do i replace it?

Hello
The PCV is below the EGR (exhaust gas recirculation valve) valve close to the intake manifold below the intake air sensor, there is a tube running to it from the engine to recirculate exhaust air with fresh air, there is a clamp holding it to the air intake that you need pliers to remove, then you need to turn counter-clockwise 90 degrees to remove, do the reverse to install. to make it easier to access remove the upper intake. The PCV valve is not visible, however, you can identify it by the 3" inch long rubber hose that connects to the steel line running into the bottom of the intake. I have the part and am going to replace it soon, although Ford really makes it difficult to remove it - PCV valve is located just under the throttle body. remove air cleaner assembly from throttle body and you will see a u shaped hose running horizontally.

Section 03-14: Engine Controls, Electronic 1996 Taurus, Sable Workshop Manual
REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION Idle Air Control (IAC) Valve Removal
  1. Disconnect battery ground cable (14301). Refer to Section 14-01 .
  1. Disconnect the engine control sensor wiring (12A581) from the idle air control valve (IAC valve) (9F715) at the idle air control valve electrical connector.
  1. Remove the two idle air control valve retaining bolts.
  1. Remove the idle air control valve and idle air control valve gasket.
Installation
  1. NOTE: If scraping is necessary, be careful not to damage idle air control valve gasket surfaces, or drop material into intake manifold (9424) or throttle body (9E926) (depending upon application).

Clean idle air control valve gasket mating surfaces.
  1. To install idle air control valve, reverse Removal procedure.
  1. Tighten the idle air control valve retaining bolts to 8-12 Nm (71-106 lb-in).

How to remove the valve cover to replace gasket

What kind of engine? If it's a 3.0L Vulcan, you have to take off the upper and lower intake manifolds and you'll be able to take the valve covers off. There's a bunch to take off before you get to that point. The EGR Valve, Throttle body assembly, ignition coil pack, etc. Make sure you relieve the fuel system pressure (it might be behind the right side well cover of your trunk- disconnect that connection), and take off the negative battery terminal before begining work.
