Air leak, possibly around tb, thus o2 sensor trying to compensate for rich fuel, thus excessive 02 emissions, so o2 sensor warning WILL come on and stay until ecm reset

1988 Suburban with 5.7 TBI runs fine until warms up. Goes to fast idle and when it comes off fast idles won't start back until cools down.

Lets start at the beginning. Is the check engine light on ?
You have an idle air control valve which could be sticking open or shorted to ground. You should be able to unplug it to test. There also could be a gasket or hose that is opening up and causing a huge vac leak.

Hi. I would think you should get an engine management light on with such aproblem
if you have, then a code check should find the problem.
Other than that,it could be the crankshaft position sensor or cam sensor or temperature sensor which is giving the wrong signal to the computer.
A diagnostic check will certainly find the problem
Good luck

2002 trail blazer runs good unil its stopped @ idle (600 rpm) the oil gauge pressure drops off fast and check gauges light comes on followed by low oil pressure read out . If i give a little throtle to 800...

Thank you for being very clear, most of the people on this site write very little or very poorly.

On that note, on to options. It's either (in my expert opinion) an internal engine problem, or your computer/spark plugs needs to be replaced.

Step 1: Get a tune up, (100 bucks) if already done, than I'm proud of you.
Step 2: Go to a mechanic and shell out 50-80 bucks to get a specialized computer hooked up to your car to tell you any and all of the problems with your car.
Step 3: get overcharged by said mechanic to fix it, or do it yourself and grow some chest hair.

Hope it helps.

(excuse the sarcasm, I'm bored at work solving random car problems)

Oil presure when I first start up the acr, the oil presure is about 40 but soon goes all the way down to the red and the red light goes turns on. It does that on idle. When I give it gas, it goes to just...

I suspect that because your car is 13 years old it has high mileage. That would cause this because things are starting to wear out. You could try going to a heavier oil like a 15W-40 or 20W-50. The heavier oil will build pressure and will lubricate better because it's thicker. It's time to start planning your next step because that won't last forever. You looking at an engine rebuild or replacement.
If the mileage is low you should get the oil pump checked out. It may be going. Hope this helps.

Hit the gas and get a bucking, bucking and more bucking.

There's alot that can cause this problem. Check battery cables and clean. Drive to autoparts place for free diagnostic. It could be a throttle position sensor, EGR valve, bad gas, bad coil, bad plug wires. Just to name a few. Hopefully the diagnostic test will pinpoint it.

1994 f-350 7.3 turbo diesel.tach reading 0 rpm's at idle speed.

yea the 93 to 95 trucks never had a tach that works very long
and first the Tach does not make the od light blink or ck engine lgt
the crank trigger does this little thing is located right in middle front of engine between the vac pump and pwr steering pmp looks like a brass bolt with wires comming out of the back of it costs about 30 bucks (don't forget the locktite blue)
now that should fix the od lights and the ck engine but it may not fix the tach thats done in the tach driver module on back of tach in dash
you can replace this but my vote it's too expensive I did mine just fine with a after market one(50 bucks), bolted it right in front of old one, it hooks up super easy gets it's signal off the alternator stator

im sort of suprized it starts ok with a bad crank trig (eec needs to see +50 rpm to start fuel flow to injectors )

any good shop with a eec scanner can see this in just seconds

2000 jeep grand V8 low idle then dies

A faulty gas cap can cause the sensor to come on.
Clean out the throttle body with a cleaner and see if the idle improves.
