ENGINE TICKS OVER THEN IT WILL REV AND CUT OUT; IT WILL SOMETIME RUN OK BUT CUTS OUT WHEN TIES ARE ENGAGED,
Hi Dawber, I believe if I was working on your engine the first thing I would check is the ignition timing, in other words the point setting if fitted, Set the points at point four five millimeter and then try again. If your engine is fitted with electronic ignition, very very slowly tighten the idle mixture control screw and if the machine slows down screw very very outwards until the idle becomes as smooth and even as possible. Once you are close to the optimum, follow the same procedure back and forth until you have the optimum setting. Regards John
