woot i feel your pain i had the same problem. go to autozone.com and go to thier vehicle repair.
enter your year make and model and find it. but please hear me on this one.. be carfule thier are like 2 timing references and one timing mark. USE THE DOT. pls i learned the hard way. lol use the dot on the cam sproket. good luck

cam gear mark lines up with head at 9 o clock and dowl pin near centre bolt is at 12 o clock
crank gear keyway at 12 o clock and mark in disc behind gear lines up with mark on oil pump at 12 o clock also.

SOURCE: timing marks on peugeot 1.9 tdi

there is a few ways of doing thes the easiest way being using locking pins
you bont have to go and buy a set of locking pins you can use 3 m8 (13mm headded) bolts and a 5mm allen key

there is a hole in the cam pully and 2 holes in the injection pump pully and 1 in the fly wheel

i suggest you lock the fly wheel up first
the hole is located under the starter motor on the front of the block
insert the 5mm allen key and get someone to turn the crank pully clockwise until allen key engages into the fly wheel

the hole in the cam should be at about 25 past
(if it is at 10 to then you neet to remove the pin from the fly wheel and turn the crank 1 full turn)

when the hole is inthe right place you can insert a m8 bolt and wind it in to the head

with this now lined up you should be able to fit the other 2 m8 bolts into the injector pump pully

with this now done your 1.9 tdi engine is timed up

the 4JB1 is a 2.8 L (2,771 cc) 93 mm bore, 102 mm stroke direct injection diesel engine. It was used in the Isuzu Bighorn (Trooper), Mu (Rodeo), Wizard (LWB Rodeo), Rodeo Pickup and Holden Jackaroo sold in most world markets aside from North America until the early 1990s. Stock power was 87 PS (64 kW) in the 1989 Isuzu Trooper.[7] Industrial versions of this motor were also sold in Isuzu light trucks.

I m looking for chain timing marks on xc 1.4 holden combo any one can help please


there is no marks on both camshaft gears or chain, and special tools are required if this is the twin cam engine with chain drive not belt.
timing mark on crank pulley must line up with mark on cover then there is a special tool that lock both camshafts at rear in the flat slots as well as lock pin to put into hole in block that locks cranck shaft.
then there is another special tool for camshaft sensor interuptor ring which is on one of the camshaft gears.

Do you know the marks for cambelt in a holden astra 2001. We thought we had it but now the whine won't fire up! Any suggestions??


hey mate.when you look at the cam gears you will see the timing marks like 2 lines carved in the gear.when setting the timing these 2 marks need to line up and look at each other.the intake cam mark should be at 3oclock and the exhaust at 9oclock.
use cam lock.

We do not have these diagrams, suggest you buy a service manual, try eBay for a used one.

Below is an image showing the timing marks. I circled the detail for the hole in the cam sprocket, you will look through the hole to aline the mark for the cam.

Replace timing belt Holden vectra 2.2ltre.i need to know how to set up the marks


timing cover has marks on it,line it up with pulley,remove pulley and cover,check to see if any marks on camshaft.un do tensioner.to be sure make your own marks
