Now the crank sensor has no voltage supplied to it its just an induction sensor ,in this case i suspect dirty connections in the multiplug ,test the old one to make sure its working which is easy to do with a multimeter if its failed then its getting a back feed when you shut it off from the ECU and to be honest i think you may need a dealer diagnostic with their special software a code reader will not be able to do this for you ,you could test for this yourself with a decent multimeter ,disconnect the multiplug and read from ignition side with ignition off and see if you get a voltage as this will burn the induction coil of the sensor .

SOURCE: trouble code 1345 crank sensor/camshaft sensor correlation

RELEARN MAY JUST BE CLEARING THE MENORY OF THE POWERTRANI CONTROL MODULE, BUT THE CODE INDICATES THAT THE CAM SIGNAL IS NOT MATCHING WHERE THE CRANKSHAFT SAYS IT SHOULD BE, DID U USE THE FACTORY CAM GEAR WITH THE MAGNET EMBEDDED IN IT ? IF NOT THEN THERE IS NO WAY TO TRIGGER THE SENSOR, CHECK THAT.

SOURCE: engine vibration 4.3 v6 92 sonoma

Are you sure the vibration is from the engine? Maybe it's the u-joints or center bearing. But if it's from the engine, your engine mounts may need replacing. If those are ok and it is your crank or cam, then you need an engine overhaul.

SOURCE: The truck will start fine when cold, but sometimes

It probably is a fuel pressure regulator. I don't have my books home for this vehicle so I am unsure as to where it is located on your vehicle but you might go to the parts store and ask them if they have one for your pickup and if they could show you where it is at. Most the parts stores will help you out. If not go to one that will. They are all pretty good about helping out.

What would cause a 98 sonoma to crank but not start

Try replacing the Crankshaft Position Sensor located on the lower front of the motor behind the crank pulley.

The sensors are somewhat common to create an open circuit when they heat up, but work again when the coil inside of it cools down.

1998 LaSaber won't start, changed the ignition moduele ran for a day. Now won't start

Defective crank angle sensor can cause this. No fuel, too. Check fuel pressure in rail. Perhaps fuel pump not running (bad pump). Clogged fuel filter a possibility if no fuel pressure.

1998 sonoma won't start

Your Battery is Corroded or Bad.... Pull your Battery, Clean the Terminals, Charge your Battery and have it tested and if it is bad, replace it. If it is Good, then Clean the Terminals and the Post REALLY GOOD and reinstall and your problem will go away. If your Battery is Good, test your Alternator. Your Battery should have 12.6-12.8 Volts. When it is Running, it should be 13.4-14.6 Volts Depending on your Alternator and Voltage Regulator

1998 chevy s10 driving along and engine shut down.after sitting 10 min.it started but was rough.went 100.ft and it shut off again.sat for a while.it started and ran a couple miles like nothing was ever...

if it shuts off while driving and will not start back up for at least 10 minutes, then it may be the crank sensor doing this. is check engine light on! if so get it scanned to find problem code. if no scanner, auto-zone will scan for free. if light is on. CPS symtoms are: car dies and won't re-start till it cools down, or won't start at all. good-day ! crank sensor timing will be out of sync. it controls timing and sends info to pcm.

97 LaSabre won't start, will shut off when runnin, has had fuel pump replaced 3 times, and battery terminals are good. Any ideas?

The crank sensor will sometimes fail when the car gets hot. I have ran some of these cars before until they cut off. I sprayed come water on the crank sensor and the car restarted. Replaced crank sensor and the car did not come back again for that problem again.
