Question about 2000 Chrysler Town & Country
Door ajar light on dash is on when all doors are shut is there a relay that controls this is a switch at the doors gone bad?
Most likely it is a bad switch/relay on the door. You should be able to actuate the switch with your finger when the door is open. If nothing happens when you push the switch in and out then its possible that you may need to replace the switch. You might first try removing the switch and checking it to see if it is stuck and make sure the wiring is connected securely. Your local Chrysler Dealership should have the replacement part and could replace it for you if you feel like its something you don't want to tackle.

The sensor switch in the door latch is dirty or may have been damaged. Thoroughly spray the door switches with a cleaning spray like carb cleaner. Then give it some canned air to blow out any remaining dirt. Then use a spray lubricant like WD40. After that open and close the door a few times and see if the light goes off when you close the door. If this doesnt work you'll need to take off the door panels to get a better view.

Try spraying some penetrating oil in the door latch...the latch assembly on many of the newer vehicles have a switch inside that tends to stick...give it a try and it may be a real inexpensive fix.
