How do I replace 1991 mitsubishi mighty max head gasket

I am down to the cam and need to know if I can just remove the hex bolts and leave the cams in place. Also, I have the injector assembly in place, can I leave it attached and just remove the cam assembly to get to the head gasket?

If it is 4X4 and you re not going far. Put the transfer case in neutral. If it is 2X4 standard transmission, put it in neutral. If it is an automatic transmission you need to remove the driveline.

Why 1991 mitsubishi mighty max has no injector pulse 2.4 engine?

The problem may be a cam/crank position sensor that is causing this. Check that the cam shaft is turning ( broken timing belt/chain)

I have a 1991 mitsibishi mighty max and it blows thick white smoke when I start it, why does it do that. It runs good though.

you have water/coolant entering the combustion chamber. either the head is cracked or you have blown a head gasket.

Replace valve seals on a 1988 mitsubishi mighty

mcdevito75 here, That is a shop only job, the entire cylinder head has to come off and either a rebuilt installed or your old head is taken to the rebuilder, Most heads are made of Allumimum and extra care has to be taken removeing them from the engine, also you"d need a special tool to reove the valves from the head and another special tool to remove and replace the valve seals. Have the shop do this job.

Intake to head bolt torque

Intake bolt torque is 11-14 foot pounds. Note:
to torque bolts & nuts, start in center using
crisscross pattern working outward. And as Far as the sealant goes, you shouldn't need any additional sealant since the new gasket has sealant.(just make sure both surfaces are clean an free of oil.) sometimes if the head or the block show signs of pitting on the matteing surfaces then you could use a litttle of that cooper spray gasket to coat the new gasket.

You dont have to remove the cams, but it did blow a head gasket so the head needs to go to a shop to be checked out. I would not leave my cams in if you are taking it to a shop because those guys are good but they do loose stuff.
