Is the fitting and hose that comes from the rear top of my engine and runs into the passenger side firewall to the heater core?

Sounds like it may be?
Is it about a .75" - 1.0" Hose?
Because that is the normal size of heater core hose.

Flushing the heater core

I removed the hoses and took a air nozzle at low pressure and blew in the return hose connection of the core. A big chunk of paste like substance shot out then pure liquid. I put the hoses back on and tested it. Now its blowing hot!!!!!!!

Our 2000 gmc 2500 7.4 engine the antifreeze runs between the valve cover and the intake cannot find where fluide come from, check hose fitting, help

hello, i had a 1997 chevy dually, had same problem, the way gm changed their clamps for hoses, now the clamps sorta hold their self, there made of plastic, and they slip into each other, they are like male and female connections, they slip into each other, i would check all radatior hoses, heater core hoses, i had 6.5 turbo diesel, great motor, only thing is the clamps for heater hoses was plastic, just like on the rocker arms, on the 6.5 they have a nylon plug that holds rocker arms in place, keeps them moving from side to side, they have to be changed at least, 150,000, mine broke off, had to replace 2 pistons, pushrod came out went into motor and broke the skirts off two pistons, very expensive, i would check all clamps with the plastic male to female, ends, maybe that will help, also check thurmostat cover, been known to leak a little too.

I have a problem with the heater hose it broke off from the croe

It's common. there is a special tool to remove the plastic peice that is stuck on your hear core. Most all parts store have them. The size you will need is 3/4". they usaly come as a set with muliple sizes.
Then after you get it off you can replace the hose. Make sure the other one is in good shape. Most of the time they will both fail within a couple of months of each other.

2000 gmc sierra 5.3l heater does not get hot

After replacing the thermostat I pulled the heater hoses off and blew air through the heater core at firewall. Can only blow in left side as directional valves will prevent opposite. Chunks of stuff came out with coolant. I then put a piece of hose on the left side and shot water through until it came out clear.
Put it all back together and heat works fine.

Not usualy but if you know someone who can make an internal or external sleeve out of copper and silicon seal it into place you may be able to patch it up.also depends how much of the plastic is left to work with.
