Renault megane automatic flashing D even when gear is in neutral and not starting

it might be the power feed is down to the transmission. If all the shift solenoids are off, the trans will stay in 4th. Check the trans fuse.

i need help with this one because although their are lots of renaults in spain very few are automatics,its sounds like a cable is broke that disengages the the lock mechanism,and yes the car will move with the handbrake off evan in gear ,only park will lock the wheels

just had the same problem with mine, here's what the problem was, the hydrolic fluid had gone bellow the min level indicator because of a slight leak to the ram, the reservoir is located in the back N/S boot. refill the the reservoir (Halfords do the hydrolic fluid for them) then you need to re-set the roof mecanism, after opening and closeing the back part of the car where the roof goes manually, and trying the switch a few times to reset the locking device with the micro switches, I managed to do it without spending too much cash. hope this helps anyone with roof trouble. -
