SOURCE: Trunk lid bars came off
grab a pair of pliers and twist it forward, back onto one of the four spots. watch out though, because when they are pulled up the tension is insane and can snap back REAL quick. i have a hole in my arm from one snapping back and catching me on the forearm when i was installing a new sub box.

The latch on the CAR, not the trunk, can be adjusted ud or down Usually has bolts on both sides that you can loosen. If you are slamming it to close, Adjust latch up alittle, re-tighten bolts and close trunk. It is an easy adjustment. Just be patient end keep latch level
