Open Question

2003 ford taurus 3.0 V engine misfire cylinder 3

Engine light code read misfire in cylinder 3 - just replaced upper motor mount - could this be the coil or would a bad coil affect other cylinders?

SOURCE: 97 ford taurus: Cylinder 2 misfire

Assuming the plugs and wires have been changed. I would look at the bottom of the coil pack. They tend to crack and short out.

Or if it's got coil packs they will also crack and short out.

Ford taurus p0300

Neither was the problem on a 2007 vehicle, still sort of new

You do need to change plugs every 3 years

I would change the Front Oxygen Sensors, if you have 100,000
miles on them---still not the misfire issue

The misfire is the ignition control module, if that is what you have,
since you mentioned plug wires, some motors have individual
ignition coils & they fail a lot on a ford

Those codes are of no use, their random misfires & misfire
on first 1,000 rpm when starting the motor

Have to diagnose each cylinder & any module issue

Whom ever did your work failed to do anything but replace
parts,no road test,no scanner data checking or code diagnoses

Don't go to the chain store or auto parts shops
Go to an old time local shop

My 2005 Ford Taurus is running very poorly. It shuts off on me in traffic at red lights. My check engine light is on, and I pulled the code. The code was a **** fire at 1000rpm's. I just changed all the...

The spark plugs won't misfire, that was a waste of time,
unless they were in the motor 3 years or more,60,000
miles or more

You got a MIL Lamp on, and a code

Why are you not diagnosing that code, for issues

A Misfire First 1000 Rev, should also have cylinder codes
PO301 thru PO306

Misfire on the #2 spark plug

Firing order is 1-4-2-5-3-6 Cylinders are numbered as such: Standing in front of the car looking at the engine the cylinders farthest from you on the back side of the engine are from left to right, 1-2-3 and on the front side closest to you from left to right 4-5-6.

2002 taurus SEL-5 engine codes to go with light and problems

Cylinders 2, 3 have coil packs change out located on back of motor. you will have to take the upper intake off to get to them. Very easy to do. #2 center plug on back of motor #3 is on drivers side of motor. Crank sensor you will have to remove tire on car passenager side next look at crank pulley on left side of block you will se two wires the heat cover running to it.
Change these first it might correct the O2 sensor problem.

Can't read misfire codes

The code P0300 is a random misfire code which means any cylinder and the code P0316 means that there is a misfire code set within the first 1000 revolutions of the engine. Good luck with this problem.

Engine light on. Had it tested came up as ''misfire on cylinder 4''

A misfire is when the fuel is not ignited in the cylinder of the motor.Pretty much the car would be running on 5 cylinders. most of the time, you should just need to replace the plugs and wires. And that should solve the problem.
