I think you will find a small hatch on the inside of the tailgate, this will allow you access to unlock the tailgate.Possibly the lock actuator has failed.

ive got a 07 equinox and the rear hatch wont open as of yesterday. on the inside of the hatch there is an access plug you can pop off and inside you'll see a metal switch with a hole in it. if you push it away from yourself, it will unlatch it. i dont know why the hatch wont open as ive checked the fuse and its ok.

Yes you are very correct.------The fuel pump is located under the rear seat behind drivers seat and sensor is in that. And you need to pull the pump to get to the sensor.
The fuel tank level sensor.
The sending unit is mounted to the side of the fuel pump inside the fuel tank. The fuel pump can be accessed from inside the vehicle by removing the lower rear seat and then the plastic access panel in the drivers side of the rear seat floor. The wiring runs underneath the vehicle and you would need to either jack the vehicle up or use a lift to gain access underneath the observe the wiring.
--------- A fuel level sensor (or gasoline gauge) is a device utilized to show the amount of gasoline remaining in a vehicle tank. The device is made up of two components: The sensor system and the fuel indicator. The sensor device often runs on the float attached to a potentiometer. When the vehicle tank runs dry, the float falls and turns a shifting connection over the resistor, maximizing its resistance.------ If the fuel sensor fails, the fuel level will not show at all, or will give incorrect detail. And in that case it has to be replaced.----- This will help.Thanks.Helpmech.
