SOURCE: DOES THE REAR HATCH HACE A KEY SLOT TO UNLOCK THE HATCH?

I think you will find a small hatch on the inside of the tailgate, this will allow you access to unlock the tailgate.Possibly the lock actuator has failed.

SOURCE: im in the hatch under

Yes you are very correct.------The fuel pump is located under the rear seat behind drivers seat and sensor is in that. And you need to pull the pump to get to the sensor. The fuel tank level sensor. -------- The sending unit is mounted to the side of the fuel pump inside the fuel tank. The fuel pump can be accessed from inside the vehicle by removing the lower rear seat and then the plastic access panel in the drivers side of the rear seat floor. The wiring runs underneath the vehicle and you would need to either jack the vehicle up or use a lift to gain access underneath the observe the wiring.
---------
A fuel level sensor (or gasoline gauge) is a device utilized to show the amount of gasoline remaining in a vehicle tank. The device is made up of two components: The sensor system and the fuel indicator. The sensor device often runs on the float attached to a potentiometer. When the vehicle tank runs dry, the float falls and turns a shifting connection over the resistor, maximizing its resistance.------ If the fuel sensor fails, the fuel level will not show at all, or will give incorrect detail. And in that case it has to be replaced.----- This will help.Thanks.Helpmech.

About a rear hatch not opening

Those pads are junk. They are not weather protected. They corrode badly. I believe on yours, you have to got to the back and at the bottom of the hatch panel there is a round plug you can pop out. Insert a screw drive. You will have to catch the release and move it left or right to release the hatch. Once open look at the rubber. There are two screws to remove and replace the controller.

2009 Equinox rear hatch has no manual latch and the remote will unlock all doors except the rear latch

If there is no exterior handle to open the hatch you are in a pickle. The rear hatch interior moulding assembly will have to be removed from inside the vehicle to access the lock assembly. This may crack/damage the moulding assembly as it is not designed to be removed this way. Once removed the door can usually be opened manually and then diagnosed for the problem. It may be a defective lock solenoid or latch assembly. I would have a pro look at it as they know how to disassemble these things with minamal to no damage.
