SOURCE: 1990 toyota camry

Well if it is a 4 cylinder the timing marks would be small hole in camshaft lined up with little dot on head at 12 o'clock position and the crank with the pulley on should line up with 0 on the timing indicator. If it is a 6 cyl then the marks would be- camshafts both with dots up and lined up with indicaters on heads and crank timing mark on 0 with the harmonic balancer installed. Hope this helps.

SOURCE: 2004 Toyota Camry Brakes

Raise the vehicle up and remove the rims & tires

Remove the brake pads, and then remove the calipers from the caliper retention brackets, do NOT remove the brake hoses from the calipers.

Remove the caliper retaining brackets from the hub assemblies (2 large bolts on backside of the bracket)

Tap the brake rotors off of the hubs, hit them from the back side of the rotor.

No big mysteries here, this is a very easy job.

SOURCE: where are the cam timing marks on a 1997 toyota

There is a dot on the front side of the camshaft pulley. You have to pull the top timing belt cover to see it.

Diagram for engine timing for a 3100 Chevy V6

It's on TDC so align marks on cam shaft and crank shaft with center of cam & crank shafts and the ECM will go from there. so you will have to change the timing chain if its loose or worn out.

Can some one show me timeing mark on 1997 nissan maxima please

wow a Nissan Camry.
what engine, ??????????
what are you doing, we dont know. so..
cam marks? chain marks?
spark timing?

in 1997, most cars have 6 or more marks.

Nissan V6? is it (guessing i am)
if doing major cam work , you will need far more that just mark data.

if doing serious work, i recommend the below
  1. a real FSM, from NISSAN if Nissan.
  2. alldata.com
warning:1
all nissan engines are All Interference
so doing cam work or finding engine dead,
do a leak down test by hand before cranking engine
or bend the valves.
after replacing chain, do a cyl. leak down test (a tool)
and if it fails, the valves were bent, do not crank engine
or the damage WILL cascade $$$$$$$$$$$$$$

Timing chain marks needed for Audi A4 B9 1.8tfsi 2009 model. Engine was taken out and settings not marked. This is extremelyurgent. Please help

diagrams I have show a twin cam set up with 2 balancing shafts. The marks on the cam shaft point to (left cam shaft 11 oclock the mark on the right point to the 1 oclock position. The chain will have 3 black links-- the top black links will be at the timing marks on the shafts with the 3rd black link directly at 6 oclock facing a mark on the gear. The balancer marks both point to the 1 oclock position with black links on each and the 3rd black link will be facing a mark to the 7 oclock position on the crankahaft gear. Everything is done with the piston at TDC no 1 cylinder so get it there before you put the cam shafts in position or you will bend valves. Crank shaft gear is not keyed to the crank shaft. there are dots on the right hand balancer shaft gears and these dots will be as the 2 dots on adjacent teeth either side of a dot on the meshing gear. I suppose that is all as clear as mud but if you got this far then you will see the marks and marked links on the chains

300 Chrysler 2004 just changed the cam shaft sensor. And light came back on sayin same code what is up with this and what else could it be code is p0016

Easy to diagnose, your engine has jumped time. Your timing belt or chain has jumped a tooth, or has broken, and your cam/crank are not matched up. (somebody has driven your car like a race car, full throttle from stop, etc) Line up timing marks, replace the belt or chain, and hope there is no more damage than that.

Timing chain setting

Your camshaft and your crankshaft have marks on them. Your timing chain also has marks on it. The timing marks MUST ALL line up at the same time before you move your internal parts. The easiest way to do this is to take out your spark plugs and after tou get the chain, chain tensioner and chain damper on, turn the engine with a wrench watch the marks. The number 1 cylinder should be at tdc.
