Engine warning light
Hi,
A 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
The service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
Good luck!

most of the new cars with such computer system to control the engine and other functions , such as brakes, anti-freeze level, that why the light on and tell you that you should watch out certain things, you still can drive the car, but you have to go to the dealer and let them check you car and reset the computer system and then all the light will be off.

Check to see are your brake light working! if not you have a faulty brake light switch - 10 min repair job at your local VW service centre. With no brake lights you'll need to get it seen to ASAP!!

The flashing is telling you that the engine is mis-firing, the dealer will run a test to determine the cylinder that is mis-firing, chances are it is something simple

2 options depending on your displays .
Press and hold the service wrench button with the ignition off. While still holding the button, turn your ignition to "on" (but don't start the car). Press the Min clock button and then release the wrench button.
With key off press and hold the 0.0 button on the cluster. With your other hand turn the key to the on position , while still holding 0.0 button, press the minute button for 1 second and you will see the service reset.
cheers

SOURCE: 2007 Passat wagon. I need to reset the air bag warning light.
the air bag light will only show if the ignition was turned on while it was disconnected.
it will defo need to be pluged into the computer to be put out but some smaller garages will have the software to do this and will be a little cheaper.here in ireland VW wanted 50euro to do mine but a small garage done it for 30euro.
you can buy code finders/reset gadgets on ebay but might not be worth it for one job compared to $130.
my suggestion would be to get the main dealer to do it if a normal automotive shop cannot access it.
