This could be a lot of things. Unfortunately one of those things could have been the person who did the tune up. Who did the tune up and what exactly did they do. Did you have the engine light before the tune up? The sway bar and bushings should not be involved in this problem at all. The lifters could be caused by the gas you are using. Make sure you are using the correct octaine gas. If it is too low it can cause this rattling also known as "pinging". Also do you have more than one remote for your car? If so check it as well. If your mechanic messed with your computer, you may need to have your remote reprogrammed., I would double check the battery in the remote first. I installed the battery upside down once and of it didn't work. Hope this information helps. Good Luck!

My Audi a3 has got aloud ticking noise coming from engine once it gets worm

your vehile is fitted with hydraulic valve lifters. if the kilometers is quite high on the engine i would suggest replacing the lifters and make sure you use a proper engine oil cause that is the most common reason why chains and lifters fail

Hello, I have a 2001 chevy tracker with a 2.0 engine. It has a ticking noise after it warms up. during up shift at RPM's about 3000 it rattles like lifters, but go away after the shift. Some times

when oil is cold it is thicker and stays [on]coats metal as oil warms up it thins out and flows better[makes it thinner will hear ticking] sounds like a bad lifter or even camshaft lobe problem ,could also have a problem with a loose or out of adjustment rocker arm

Why doesnt my 2006 dodge ram show codes for faulty lifter or or oil pressure. My truck makes a loud ticking sound coming from passenger side. sounds as if the lifters are knocking. took it in to the shop...

Most mechanical problems, such as noisy lifters or bearings, can't be detected by the engine controller and thus there won't be any codes set UNLESS the problem is causing a misfire or emission related concern. The ticking noise may well be a lifter even though none of them appear to be collapsed as the spring inside them will keep the lifter expanded but isnt' strong enough to keep them from being noisy when the lifter can no longer keep oil under pressure trapped inside. You may have to have someone do some further testing and inspecting to figure out exactly where the noise is coming from. Good luck, hope this helps!

Ticking noise on a 2001 town and country is it really a lifter

Probably, but other things can cause what sounds like a tick as well. Early rod wear can sound a lot like a lifter tick. Sometimes even the transmission can develop a ticking in the area of the torque converter/pump. If there is no other apparent issues, chalk it up to old bones - after all you have 186K on it.

What dose a cam phaser sound like and wear dose the sound come form . on a 2005 ford f150 fx4

The cam phaser I would say wounds most like lifter noise from a 70s car, that ticking noise. At least the really loud cam phasers do sound like that. Some are not quite so noisy. My '06 has a bit of that ticking lifter type noise to it.,

Lifters rattle when you first crank it up for about 5 mins until warm, Shouldi replace the lifteror wouldbe wasting my money to do so,.It runs great an use no oil 3800 -v-6 in a 2001 camaro, what...

Are you sure that the noise is a rattle? lifters make a ticking noise, pistons, piston pins and bearing rattle, lifter tick goes away in seconds, piston and bearing related noises take longer, and in the case of rod bearing not at all, it sounds like you may have piston noise, and in that case I would not worry about it, I would run a few cans of combustion chamber cleaner with you next 2 fill ups, carbon build up on the the # 1 piston ring land can cause the piston to "rock" in the cylinder and make a rattle type noise. I have a 1996 Corvette that has a rattle, it is a piston, GM checked it and told me not to worry about it, of course that advice cost $50.00. Also this type of noise is common to the later production 3.8L V6. Hope this sets your fears of a large repair bill to rest, just drive it, but make sure you use the correct oil and change it when recommended.
