What are some common problems with the 2005 chevy impala with the 3.4

Im thinkin about buying this 2005 chevy impala with the 3.4. they only want 2500 for this car barely 103k miles on it, seems to be a good running car from when i drove it. I think the price is good but i dont want to end up with a lemon. are there alot of problems with the 3.4 i know they can come with the 3.8 aswell and im sure bigger is better but the price seems good and the overall shape of the car seems great too. any sugestions on this 3.4 litter engine?

3.4 will run about 100-150 thousand miles. They can last longer if ya dont beat on it. They tend to get a little lifter noise when they get older. Its not a terrible motor. 3.8 was ALOT better. 200-250 thousand miles. I had a Regal with 240 thousand when i sold it.

Chevy impala cuts off while driving

Check for any stored engine codes, this may give you an idea of any problems that may cause your complaint. Possible crank position sensor, cam position sensor or ignition module would cause a 'die in flight' situation.

Transmission problems

I had a 01 impala that was **** too. switched to Ford and havent been to the shop since. If you look at the question breakdown for this website you will see 5 times as many posts for chevys than fords. However, you could have gotten a bad rebuild too. I had a rebuild done once and they boke most of the bolts that held the transmission in and didnt replace them.
