Question about Cars & Trucks
I wish to make a back up copy in case anything on my original SD sat nav software card goes wrong. Have tried copying original SD card using my PC but back up just locks on start up screen an will not go any further. Suspect there are hidden files on the original SD card that will not all a transfer across to a back up.
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.

SOURCE: Nissan Primera Sat Nav problem
Interesting problem, perhaps you might try to do a reset of the system initially. Normally, this ought to revert everything back to factory default but of course all user settings, preferences and configurations would also be erased. Additionally, some models/units would also ask for an entry code before being operational, pls have this available if your unit requires one. An alternative method of reset is to remove power from the mains. But again, as a reset and a code might be required.
Could you possibly provide likewise the exact make and model of the Nav DVD-CD?
Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.
Good luck and kind regards.
Thank you for using FixYa.

Yes it is possible to install the factory sat nav in you X5, but apart from the head unit you will also need:
If you feel brave enough then there are BMW forums which gives you very detailed information on how to to it, but don't expect to get it done in a day or even two, a week is probably realistic time. It took me 2 weeks to do my first 3 series.
Hope this helps. Please don't forget to rate me.
