EBay, Craigslist, or any online parts store should be able to get you one.

Radiator may be plugged up inside or a bad headgasket. Try the radiator first since it is far easier.

SOURCE: I have a 1990 Jeep Cherokee Starts then shuts off

Sounds like insufficient fuel delivery. Likely problem is the fuel filter is plugged.

SOURCE: horn location for a 1990 jeep cherokee

Hi RS,

The horn on my 86 Cherokee is inside the grill, in front of and to the right of the radiator. I don't imagine they've moved them too far from there in four years.

If you're trying to locate it for reasons other than it not working, I'd say have someone sound the horn while you stand in front of the car. That should pin point it.

Best regards

Mike

3 months ago i changed to a new radiator after going trough water bottle after water bottle.Things were fine. Now im over heating again with the problem being the pressure cap of the water bottle apparently...

There is no water bottle

All vehicles have a coolant recovery container

When the vehicle warms up ,some coolant goes
past the radiator cap into it

At night when cool, the radiator draws back what
it needs

Been that way for 50 years

That container isn't under pressure as you can see

You have to diagnose the engine overheating issue

You have a new radiator,I would assume new thermostat
& rad cap,so continue on

It is very old, so a head gasket wouldn't be a supprise

So if my recovery bottle has a crack in it and all of the pressure escapes through the crack this will cause my inline 6 to overheat

Hi,
Most likely it will cause overheating. The system uses pressure to raise the boiling of the coolant. Boiling coolant does not cool
well.

Electronic display says coolant sensor bad. I replaced the sensor located in the recovery bottle, but it still reads bad?

Good Evening, I can certainly understand your problem, I fought with a 97 grand cherokee with the same problem, at the end of all the troubleshooting it ended up being the information display module. Certainly it is something to consider, especially changing the sensor a couple times to be sure. Hope this helps, If you have any more questions please feel free to ask.

How can i properly change my coolant temperature sensor that has gone bad?

make one clockwise wrap of teflon tape around the threads of the new sender. remove the wire on the old unit and remove it from the engine. working quickly place the new one into the hole and finger tighten. complete tightening with the wrench you used to remove it. Replace wire, start engine and let it warm up. shut it off and top off the recovery bottle. If you do this right, you should not loose more than two cups of coolant.
