You probably have way too much unburned fuel in your exhaust system (how's your mileage?) or possibly a failed oxygen sensor that is giving false information to the computer.

If you want the check engine light to stay off, make sure that the converter is a direct fit, and not a universal. It should work fine then.

Could a 2003 Nissan Sentra GXE with 84,500 miles on it have oil loss problems? My service engine light came on the other day and when I had it checked at Auto Zone they said it was my Catalytic Converter...

Catalytic converter works with emission gasses and had nada to to with oil consumption. People at Auto zone are
a-- holes and you should stay away from them.

I need to reset the check engine light....????

You need to take it to auto zone or a parts store that can read the codes for you, they won't reset it for you because they are not allowed to, but that way you can see what is causing the problem. If it's as simple as a sensor, replace run the car 3 consecutive trips and the check engine light should come off. Depending on what's causing the CEL to come on you'll know if it's an easy fix or an expensive one, like the catalytic converter. If it was because the the gas cap was left off or loose then it comes off in 3 consecutive trips where the computer checks everything is OK.

Engine light on code po141 came up at auto zone now light is off is it an emergency situation that needs to be fixed immediately

Code P0141 indicates a problem with the heater circuit on the oxygen sensor after the catalytic converter. If this is a V6 it would be the sensor on bank #1. I would not consider this an emergency situation.

WHY WOULD MY CAR SHIFT HARD ONLY WHEN START OF ACCELERATING LINCOLN LS .. COULD CADILLAC CONVERTER CAUSE THIS TO HAPPEN

shifting hard is one thing the engine bogging down is a seperate issue if your catalytic converter is is backed up you should have a check engine light on telling you that you have a catalyist inefficiancy in bank one or bank two depending on how manny you have. is your check engine light on . if so you can go to auto zone or advance auto and have them read your codes. if it is your 02 sensors that come up first then replace them first the . you should hav a total of two to four . if you have one catalytic converter you should have two if you have two catalytic converters you should have four labled as one up stream and one downstream. hope this helps feel free to ask any questions

CHECK ENGINE LIGHT STAYS ON. WAS TOLD IT WAS THE 02 SENSOR/VALVE. WHERE DO I FIND THIS? GMC SIERRA 1500

You should have 5, O2 sensors on your Sirera. What are the DTC codes, each codes will indicate which O2 sensor needs to be addressed, or is this an answer with someone guess what the check engine light is saying.
Thye check engine light could be from a bad O2 sensor to just a bad or loose gas cap to a transmission issues.
Thank you for using fixya and note that Auto Zone and most larger auto parts store will scan DTC codes free of charge.

Catalytic converter cause engine on ofter replace catalytic converter and clear the light drive abouse 100km engine lighe on can tell me why

Vw's are a little tricky, you have to call the dealer to tell you what the codes mean. Go to Auto Zone and have them read the codes for you. If they reveal what the codes mean thats fine. But if they don't, get them and send them to me . I'll help you out with this one.

Catalytic converter is bad on 1995 Subaru Legacy L Wagon

dearship parts are high.you can buy a factory catalytic converter or universal converter cheaper at auto parts place.they basic the same parts the.dealership has same catalytic converter.they put their price and labor rate charge an hour your pocket book will be empty.i have used universal catalytic converter.had no problem with it.the only difference is universal converter body a little shorter.but has same lengh as factory.if check engine is coming on you cant turn it off .if computer showing you a code.you could have a misfire causing rich exhaust emission.that can ruin a catalytic converter have it scan.dealership charge you about $130.00 .you can have it scan at advance auto or auto zone.to see what pcm code is.it could be oxygen sensor somethinh minor.

Check engine light on for sometime; Response to throttle sluggish

If your catalytic converter is "below efficiency" or otherwise clogged, you will lose power as you drive and the vehicle heats. The more you drive the vehicle, the worse the problem will become. The exhaust can't escape properly through the catalytic converter, therefore your engine won't run properly. Your issues are related, and if you replace your catalytic converter they should go away.
