SOURCE: Location of oil filter on Nissan Altima 2005

The oil filter is located behind the right (passenger) inner fender cover. It is right next to the crankshaft pulley at the bottom of the front of the engine facing toward the right front wheel. I do not have a picture at this time.

Hope this is helpful!

The start is located underneath the intake manifold on the back side of the engine and mounted onto the transmission case. This location is the same for all basic altimas for many years during production.

'96 NISSAN ALTIMA: HARD TO START WHEN COLD, BUT STARTS GOOD WHEN AT RUNNING TEMP.

This could be a old/dead/dieing battery. It's easier for a starter to turn a motor that has already warmed up because the motors oil is very smooth at operating temperature. When the vehicle is cold it will be much thicker thus making it much harder for the starter to turn over the motor. Thanks for asking! Try replacing your battery.
