Question about 2002 Mitsubishi Lancer
I have a mitsubishi lancer coupe 2000 model; what type of oil do i use. shope manual says 10/30; last service mechanic use 15/40; very confused
10W40 IS IF YOUR CAR IS OVER 120K 10W30 DURING WARM MONTHS 5W30 IN THE COLD MONTHS BUT I USE 15W30 SPECIFIED FOR HIGH REV ENGINES SUCH AS A FIVE SPEED OR MANY FOREIGN MOTORS ARE DEPENDING ON THE DRIVERS ACCELERATOR HABITS

Go with the shop manual's recommendation - it's put out by the manufacturer. If they list different viscosities for cold vs warm weather, you may benefit by following that if you live in a climate with cold winters (ie, 5W30 in winter, and 10W30 in summer).
