1999 Dodge Intrepid Heating/Air Conditioning

The heat and air both work great. The problem is where the air is blown - strictly on the feet no matter what position the switch is in. One exception - it blows up on the window for defrost while at the same time blowing down on the feet. Any suggestions on getting the other positions to work?

    Thanks, but....

We have the Chilton's manual for the Intrepid. However, it does not have vacuum diagrams and we cannot find where the vacuum hoses are without removing pretty much the whole cover of the engine. It would not necessarily be a big deal, but my husband is now disabled and cannot stand in that position long enough to verify where things are specifically. Does anyone have a vacuum diagram?

AC selector switch only works on fan setting and only blows through the defrost on high.

My heat in my 99 dodge intrepid is blowing cold air. I got a radiator flush and the heating core is working. What is wrong with my heat.

could be the thermostat has gone bad. this would over-cool the engine and keep the coolant from getting hot enuf to warm the heater core.

Where is the a/c filter located on a dodge intrepid 2002

I'm not sure that there was one on a 2002 Intrepid. I had a 2002 Intrepid SE with the standard heating/air condition package (not the automatic temperature control), and mine didn't have a cabin air filter.

Over heating 2000 Dogde Intrepid 3.2L

Hey Ninja,,, a bad thermostat will not cause the belt to break,,. BUT a locked up A/C compressor will, anything that is locked up or not freely working will cause the belt to break.. MAYBE the water pump is locked up and you are forcing it to try to turn.. this will give you the symptoms you describe..

The air conditioning only blows hot air, and you can hear the air leak every second, or so.

The Air-conditioning needs to be re-gassed. Take the car to an Auto Mechanic to get the Air-Conditioning re-gassed. They might also need to check it for leaks to make sure the gas stays in.

Air conditioning problem

Go to your fuse box. Look on the lid to see what fuse goes to your A/C or blower. See if they are blown. Look through them to see if there is a burnt spot. thats a good start.
