Question about 2002 Mitsubishi Galant
Open car door, all lights come on, everything else comes on when turned on. When I try lto start the car, it just makes a clicking noise. Could my starter have gone out? Car has 88,000 miles.
Check and clean the battery terminals, just went through this exact same problem myself this week! Google "clean battery terminals" if you have never done this before, pretty easy.

I would have the system checked by a starting/charging analyzer. If the draw is 1 or 2 amps and the starter doesn't turn, the starter will have to be replaced to replace the bad solenoid. Also, if the draw is 75 to 125 amps and it doesn't turn, the starter is bad.
Normally, a starter should draw 75 to 125 amps and turn vigorously, assuming the battery connections are ok.
