SOURCE: 99 dodge ram that jerks between 40 and 50 mph

Bring it back to the transmission shop and have them test drive it with the scanner to see if the Throttle Position Sensor (TPS) needs to be replaced. A worn TPS will case the transmission to have shifting problems, the TPE sends voltage signals to the PCM and will control the transmission shift points and firmness. If the TPS has a flat spot and the voltage is down at the point where the transmission needs to shift, there may be a conflict of shift program and needs to be addressed. Good luck and keep me posted.

Stay out of the Genie in a bottle isle

There has never been a manufactures factory service
manual or owners manual that require ANY additives to
any vehicle system

There not necessary & DO NOT WORK

The car is over 10 years old

Have the spark plugs been changed every 3 years
Have you replaced ALL the ignition coils around 6 to 8 year
or when they have misfired or failed
The front Oxygen Sensor get replaced on ALL vehicles at 100,000
miles
Have you been on a road test with a professional scan tool to look at data, have to do that a couple times a year
Is the EGR System working
Do you have any Vacuum leaks

Could go on all night

Just have to work on it several times a year

Have you checked for codes not just Generic
but Enhanced?

Sluggish acceleration, frequent jerking and engine knock at high RPM

Sounds to me like the timing is off! it COULD be bad gas though! run that tank through, and refill, then see how it feels!

My 2002 stang has started jerking and sputtering. then my service engine soon light came on. any ideas what could be wrong?

There is to much to list that will cause this problem. from vacuum leaks to fuel pump to sensors. You need to have the codes read and repost. This will give you an idea where to start. just a note.... If you get an 02 code, it doesn't mean the 02 senosr is bad. same with all the codes. There could be other things that will pop a code.

2002 Ford Explorer Jerking when in motion

Does the jerking feel like a fish bite ( especially when pulling a hill?) if so it may need plugs and wires

if you have one bad plug wire the problem seems to smooth out at higher speeds

Hope this helps
