Air cleaner i cannot for the life of me find the air cleaner housing to replace the element. Where is it located. I own a 1998 Dodge Caravan 4 cyl. 2.4L

Hi, the PCM is under the air filter assembly.

1. Using a scan tool, retrieve the percentage of remaining engine oil and the remaining automatic transmission fluid life. Record the remaining engine oil and the remaining automatic transmission fluid life.
2. Turn OFF the ignition.
3. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
4. Remove the screw retaining the intake air duct/resonator (3) to the PCM housing.
5. Unsnap the air filter housing clamps on top of the air cleaner housing assembly.
6. Pull the intake air duct/resonator assembly (2) up enough to remove the air cleaner cover (3) and the PCM.
7. Slide the air cleaner element assembly toward the fender to separate the air cleaner element assembly from the air inlet assembly.
8. Loosen the PCM connector attaching bolts.
9. Disconnect both PCM connectors.
10. Remove the PCM (1).
    NOTE
    If the PCM is being programmed using the Off-Board method, perform the programming before continuing with the steps listed below. Refer to the Off-Board procedure in Powertrain Control Module (PCM) Programming.
    

FOR A 2.4 LITER ENGINE
Air Cleaner Element Inspection/Replacement

1. Remove the air cleaner bolts (A) and the Air cleaner Housing cover (B).
2. Remove the air cleaner element (C) from the Air cleaner Housing (D).
3. Check the air cleaner element for damage or clogging. If there is damage or clogging, replace the air cleaner element. Do not use compressed air to clean the air cleaner element.
4. Clean and remove any debris from inside the Air Cleaner housing.
5. Install the parts in the reverse order of removal.

HI the speed sensor is located on the front of the transmission. You will need to remove the air cleaner houseing to get access. The sensor will be to the right and under the shift linkage. I hope this helps happy hunting.

the air filter is located in a housing in the left corner of the engine compartment. (black box ) right next to the windshield washer fluid lid. remove the screws and lift off the cover and remove the filter. clean out the inside of the housing with a rag and be carewful not to drop anything into the air cleaner assembly. place new filter in the housing and secure the cover. also check hose clamps and tighten if needed. change filter every 30,000 miles or as needed. hope this will help!!!

your air filter goesin a black housing located in the left front corner of the engine compartment. you will need to remove the housing screws and lift off the cover. lift out the old filter and replace it with the new filter.hope this will help!!!

FIRING ORDER PER 4 CYL.

The air cleaner element is inside the air cleaner housing on the driver's side of the engine compartment.
To replace it:
1. Remove the two pins holding the air intake cover by pulling the head on each pin. Remove the air intake cover.
2. Loosen the four bolts by using a Phillips-head screwdriver.
3. Disconnect the clip from the bolt on the air cleaner housing, then remove the air cleaner housing cover.
4. Remove the old air cleaner element.
5. Carefully clean the inside of the air cleaner housing with a damp rag
(The coolant lines inside the air cleaner housing may be warm. Do not open the hot air valve when cleaning the inside of the air cleaner housing)
6. Place the new air cleaner element in the air cleaner housing.
7. Reinstall the air cleaner housing cover. Reinstall the clip on the bolt; make sure the clip is under the washer. Tighten the four bolts.
8. Reinstall the air intake cover. Reinstall the two pins and secure them by pushing on the heads until they lock.

1. Loosen clamp (1) and disconnect air duct at air cleaner cover (3). 2. Pry over 4 spring clips (5) from housing cover (spring clips retain cover to housing). 3. Release housing cover (3) from locating tabs on housing and remove cover (3). 4. Remove air cleaner element (filter) from housing.

it is located on left frame rail under air cleaner housing..small solid state relay,held on with 2 screws..4 wire connector..under housing where air filter is held..not up top
