SOURCE: i have a 2000 ford windstar no heat still

My 99 windstar did this too. It was the blend door that the actuator motor goes into was broke. When you pull the actuator out look into the hole and see if you see a d shape piece coming out of the box if it is not d shape it is broke check out this site great photos

SOURCE: replacing a heater core in a 2004 ford freestar

you must remove the entire dash assembly, this job requires a factory service manual or u will likely never get it apart without breaking it.

I have no Heat in my 2000 Ford Taurus!

If the heater core bypass refers to the water flow to the heater core, I would wonder why you did not flush the heater core as part of the system. You can drain water from engine, disconnect heater hoses and add a short hose to the heater and force a garden hose to flush the core.

I have not looked up the particulars for which heater system is on your car. Some just use duct-work to close off air flow through the heater core and the heater core always has hot water in it. Others will use a valve to shut off the water flow through the heater core and they can be either electric or vacuum operated. Combination systems are the third system which controls water flow and duct air flow at the same time.

Some of the Premium Climate control systems with Electronic displays have a computer diagnostic system which self-diagnoses problems but you need the sequence codes and explanation of where the bad part is located.

No heat. Both hoses are hot at firewall connection. Replaced water pump and thermostat. Flushed coolant system twice, no restriction. Damper is free moving and servo motor works when temp change is...

As a mechanic i am leaning towards a bad heater core. The core translates the heat from the cooling system into hot air for the cabin. Often times if the core is bad it leaks. check under the carpet, be keen on the smell of the antifreez and keep an eye out for foggy windows. Good luck and i hope i was able to shed some light on the situation.

1999 Taurus-NO HEAT-replaced thermostat,flushed heater core,still NO HEAT,ANY SUGGESTIONS?

Sounds like the problem has to be the valve is not opening and thus not allowing the hot coolant to enter the heater coil. Manualy open the valve (engine firewall) and see if heat is present. If this works check your cable from the dash switch as it isn't working the valve properly and needs replacing.

My heater core needs replacing how do i i have a new 1 i dont know how to install it help me

Installing a heater core on a ford freestar is a tough job as is on most cars you need to remove the dash before you can get to the heater core ...This is a large job and if you dont have any experience at removing a dash then I would take to a garage ...ARE you sure the heater core is bad is it leaking or just have no heat ?? If no heat could be a thermostat , a heater control valve , low on antifreeze .....Hope this helps

Where do you refill coolant for the radiator?

The heater core is located in behind the dashboard, I have seen trained mechanics take more than a day removing and reinstalling the dash on Taurus, probably not something to tackle at home unless you've done work like that before. But I would suggest that there may be another problem causing the no heat situation, unless the heater core is just blocked with rust. This can usually be flushed out to rectify the problem. The heater system is also electronically controlled on that model, and may have anything from a loose connection to a faulty servo motor or a broken door shaft that could cause the same fault.
As for the coolant level needing topped up frequently, it would be advisable to get this checked out first and repaired, as you will never have heat from the heater if there is no coolant in the system.

Hope this helps,
Mark.
