1996 Oldsmobile LSS. Went to autozone and got code PO133. 'Fuel system running rich or lean- check other aacodes first.' and 'Oxygen sensor defective'; The guy said it probably isn't the oxygen sensor; as...

code P0133 is : o2 sensor circuit slow response (bank 1 sensor 1)
meaning;;;one heater on o2 sensor is not heating fast enough or no heat.
look for o2 sensor heater fuse first
and connector wiring for rust
if ok change o2 sensor

Upstream heated O2 sensor heater fault

check the fuses if the fuse blew the heated side of the sensor will not work and still kick the code also a v-6 has 2 upstream o2 sensors

Check engine code po052

This code is for the heater circuit of bank 2 sensor 1 O2 sensor. Sensor 1 being before the catalytic convertor. Check the wiring for shaffing and melting but most likely the heater has failed. A heater in the O2 sensor get the sensor hot so that it starts to work sooner therefore the computer can control the fuel strategy. End result less pollution.

2001 toyota sienna 02 heater circuit bank 1 sensor 2

Sound like a DTC P0141 - O2 Sensor Heater Circuit Malfunction (Bank 1, Sensor 2)

A code P0141 may mean that one or more of the following has happened:
* open or short to ground in the wiring harness
* O2 heater circuit wiring high resistance
* O2 heater element resistance is high
* Internal short or open in the heater element

Note: Typically a failed catalytic converter does not cause this code. You're more likely to see a P0420 code for a failed converter.

My check engine light came on it said P2626

This is an O2 sensor failure with the sensor located in the manifold. The associated heater probably failed causing the sensor to fail.

I went to the inspection station and they failed my car for this diagnostic problem p0134 which makes the check engine light come on

A code P0134 may mean that one or more of the following has happened:
  • Bad O2 (oxygen) sensor
  • Bad heater circuit in the O2 sensor
  • Wiring or connector to the sensor frayed / broken
  • Blown heater circuit fuse
  • Holes in the exhaust system
  • PCM failure
The most common fix is to replace the oxygen sensor (O2 sensor). But that doesn't rule out the possibility of:
  • Rusted exhaust pipe
  • Inspect wiring & connector(s) for problems
  • Excessive amperage blowing heater fuse (still requires replacement of sensor but also replacement of blown fuse)
  • Replace PCM (only as last resort after all other possibilities are covered.
If you go to Auto Zone, you can pick up the O2 sensor and they can give you the step by step instruction to replacing the upstream O2 sensor. "before the catalytic" If you don't have a O2 sensor socket, Auto Zone has that as a loner tool or you can buy one for around $8.99. But your better off using the loner tool and can replace the O2 sensor your self there in about 30 min, could be quicker but the engine may still be to hot to work on. Good luck

Hi. Here's the description of this code i pulled up out the archives. P0136 - Heated Oxygen Sensor (HO2S) Circuit Bank 1 Sensor 2. i suspect the wires are worn or beginning to separate from the sensor housing.

please rate and god bless.
