Question about BMW Cars & Trucks
As soon as I turn off my ignition and pull the key out, my dashboard lights as well as my gauges flicker then turn off, then flickers again. this causes my alarm to go off. Please help!
Sounds like your having a problem with the ignition. its not shutting power off completly.

SOURCE: flickering lights
In some 1999/2000 Cougars the wire between the battery and the voltage regulator(altenator) had a resistance reading that is too high. Ford has issued an TSB 00-25-6 that has instructions on how to replace this wire. The part # for the replacement wire is
1S8Z-14A411-AA. I'm in Michigan and a local dealer found one for me in South Bend,IN

If you just clean the switch with contact cleaner, that will fix the problem. I had my 99 aurora's head lights came on and stayed on all the time. I bought contact cleaner 2-26 from Lowes for around 8 bucks and sprayed in the small holes in the switch and blowed with compressed air. Repetead it 2-3 times the problem was gone.

behind your instrument cluster there a molly plug that plugs into the back of the dash unit! its probably lose or has a bad ground
