Question about 1988 Chevrolet S-10
I am guessing you are asking about the "Fuel Rail". Im not sure what engine you have, but It most likely is Throttle Body injected, or having one or two injectors directly above the throttle plate.

sounds like ignition module inside of distributor cap under distributor rotor button.these do go bad and can easily be replaced.strong suspicion from your details that this is the culprit.

Check the distributor, it's common for condensation to form under the distributor cap and the wires and Ignition control module may have gone bad due to corrosion. Start with that and keep me posted, be glad to help you get your S 10 running again. Good luck friend.
