I solved problem. Thanks for help since I will probably have to use it in future since the switch may be faulty. But as for now somebody toyed with it, and the wipers will shut off when I flick knob to the left, when it bounces back to off position and it now turns off on first try. Just touchy

When you say wiper motor cover do you mean the plastic cover that covers the motor hood that has a wire that connects to it. Is the speed circuit board connected to cover that comes off without any screws. That plastic cover comes right off when i push get it off the pin that connects to wiper motor.

Is the speed circuit board connected to cover that comes off and is that where 3 screws are. Or when u say under hood, do you mean where the wipers move. Just in case I wasn't clear in explanation, the wipers do work correctly as far as speed goes when turning knob (no knob anymore but it still turns to the right. They just wont turn off.

SOURCE: Windshield Wiper Arm

Pull up on the wiper arm, you will see a tiny little blade on the side of the wiper arm where it goes over the post, take a little screwdriver and pry that out board, this will release the arm from the post, it will be tight, wiggle the arm and pull straight out away from the post.

Changed windshield pump now it pumps when ever wipers are turned on. Push to spray works well but Cant get it to stop small pumps of water when wipers running. Did I install pump wrong? 1976 c10 chevy

1976?? not a 06.. the pump you installed was the complete kit and the cam is on the wrong lobe. make sure the wiper motor is in the park position before mounting pump and be sure the three wire+1 are not switched that is three on bottom 3 and one on the top of the four pins.

Windsheild wiper wont move

Check to see if the nut is tight on the wiper down at the bottom, secondly turn the wipers on and put your ear down by the wipers to see if you can hear the motor moving. If you hear the motor moving the arms under the plastic sheathing have seperated. Try the nut first see if that fixes your problem then try the rest.

Windshield wipers will not shut off

Hello, my name is Ben. This is a very common problem for GM. You have a wiper motor control module and it is most likely defective. The module is bolted directly onto the wiper motor which is mounted to the firewall under that long plastic cowl just in front of the bottom edge of your windshield.

Can not get windshield wipers to turn off on 2003 Silverado 1500. They will turn on high speed when switch is moved but will not quit working in off position.

You have a bad wiper module.Just go under the hood and remove the connector at the wiper motor and remove the cover. You need a 20 torx bit.Pry the module out and replace it per the instructions in the new module box.You can get this part at the dealership. You will need to add sealer to the edges of the cover to keep water out.Hope this helps.Good luck.

  • Turn signal and windshield wiper switch (13K359).
The windshield wiper control module is:
  • Located at the instrument panel fuse panel.
The windshield wiper motor is:
  • Attached to the cowl top extension (021A36) .
  • Connected to windshield wiper mounting arm and pivot shaft (17566) .
The turn signal and windshield wiper switch features a:
  • Rotary wiper switch.
  • Push type washer actuator.
OFF/Low/High Speed
  • Has a two-speed, permanent magnet, three brush electric windshield wiper motor .
  • The windshield wiper motor has a brush rigging that permits selection of low or high speed.
  • When the turn signal and windshield wiper switch is in the LO position, the common brush and the blue/orange wire brush are used, and the windshield wiper motor operates at low speed.
  • When the turn signal and windshield wiper switch is in the HI position, the common brush and the white wire brush are used.

  • When the park switch contacts open, the windshield wiper motor stops in the park position.
Interval
When the turn signal and windshield wiper switch is in the interval position:
  • The wipers make single wipes separated by pauses.
  • The rotary switch is on the end of turn signal and windshield wiper switch .
  • The length of the pause can be set from approximately 1 to 17 seconds.
  • Length of pause decreases as the rotary switch is rotated away from off.
  • Length of pause increases as the rotary switch is rotated toward off.
While in the interval wiper mode:
  • It is normal to hear a slight click at the beginning of each on/pause cycle. NOTE: When using interval wipers, the first wipe may not occur until after a pause of up to 17 seconds.

Windshield wipers will not turn off - 2003 Chevrolet Silverado

Fixed the wiper problem which was identical to Brad's by changing out the wiper module which is also called a pulse module or something of that nature. Pretty easy fix. You have to remove the grill that the wiper blades protrudes from in order to get to the motor (4 clips in front which can be removed by hand, remove radio antenna, a center push down retainer, two plastic end caps which pop off and then 1 star type screw on each end under the end caps). Getting the blades off seemed difficult. I used a small puller to pop them off after removing the nuts.

You can't buy this module at a regular parts store. I had to get it from the dealer so be prepared to spend $130 to $140 for the part or go to the salvage yard. Works great now.
