SOURCE: I have 2000 chrysler sebring

Good Evening, those trunk lift supports can be a pain if you forget about them being bad they tend to not be nice when they hit your head. They are on ball studs and there is a spring steel clip you get a small flat screwdriver and pry out the little metal band and then pull it off. A word of advice is to put a board or broomstick to hold the trunk open while you do it. The first thing to do is call your local autozone or advance auto parts and be sure they are in stock before you start. Any questions please feel free to ask.

SOURCE: My Avalon trunk won't latch and stay closed. I

If it has a trunk release it sounds to be frozen..Also some close themselves electrically...But I am sure you would know if it is electric or not..If not check for a trunck fuse in the fuse box or the owners manual would be the best...If it is a manual trunk and is stuck or frozen you should be able to move the trunk latch with a big flat prybar...And if it is out of alignment the adjustment is at the striker that is mounted to the lid and not the latch itself....Hope thhis helps......Metalpoet

SOURCE: Trunk lid won't electrically open

Its possible that your problem isnt electricla, maybe mechanical (physical); check the next procedure about Trunk Lid Lock Cylinder REMOVAL & INSTALLATION to confirm and adjust...

zjlimited_1482.jpg

Fig. 1: Pull the trunk lid lock cable upward from the bracket and slide it out of the lock cylinder plate

zjlimited_1483.jpg

Fig. 2: Pull the lock cylinder retaining clip upward

  1. Pull the trunk lid lock cable upward from the bracket and slide it out of the lock cylinder plate.
  2. Pull the lock cylinder retaining clip upward to release the lock cylinder plate.
  3. Remove the lock cylinder plate.
  4. Installation is the reverse of removal.

Add WD40 oil to lubricate all components; about the fuses, you are right, isnt showed in the manual, but could test and check position 25 and 30 in passneger fuse panel (alarm and locking system).

Keep us updated.

Trunk won't open

The actuator may sound as though it is working but the latch could be damaged or misaligned. Also, the actuator could be too weak to operate the latch. If it is necessary to replace the actuator, your Camry is old enough to make a junkyard a likely source.
