you will have to check your oil pressure with an oil pressure gauge. it could be a problem with your oil pump ( or a blocked gauze on the oil pump) and the tappets noise is related to the oil pressure.

i would suggest asking your mechanic which viscosity(thickness) oil he put back in and check it against the manufacturers recommendation as if it isto thin then it will make your tappets unusally noisey if he has put in the correct oil then i would say that they were quiet because of the old gungy oil and they either need adjusting or if they are hydraulic then the lifters need replacing

have someone pump the pedal and hold it, then you work from the right rear, left rear, right front, left front, while the person pumps and holds several times at each wheel.

drain plug on the bottom of the gearbox,fill plug on the side of the gearbox and you only fill it till it just starts to run out and put plug back in should be 24 mm plug
