Check the brake switch. The brake switch releases the locking pin for the shifter when you apply the brake. Common problem with GM. Turn the key on, apply the brake on and off and listen to see if you hear a click in the steering collumn. Do this a few times to make sure you can hear it. If you can't then the switch is bad.

GEAR SHIFT COMES OUT OF PARK

Hello, This vehicle should not be able to be shifted from park if the key is not in the ignition. If it can be there is a problem with the shift interlock system in the steering column. Thank You
