1985 cadillac eldorado battery drain

The security light is supposed to flash, it indicates the system is armed, the system is functional in my opinion, why do you think it isn't? It is not the cause of the drain unless the car sits for months. Check for vanity lites in the visor left on or other interior lights.

Park lights will not go off

Sounds normal. There's a timer that keeps park lights on for a set time. Oops, just saw it's killing your battery? Do they always go off after a short time, or just "usually..."? You should time the length they stay on. Just a moment or two should not run your battery seriously down. I think you may have a weak or old battery that won't charge good, OR the lights stay on too long, or something else is drawing current from your battery after you shut the car off (like a short). I would check the battery condition, and have someone do the very simple test for drawing power after car is off- called a "parasitic draw test". If you have a test light, here's how: disconnect the positive lead from the battery and touch the probe of test light to the positive lead. The other end or clip of test light will go to positive post of the battery. See, you are just completing the circuit again with the test light in line. If anything like a short or a trunk light bulb, or glovebox light is on, it is drawing current when car is off and draining the battery. But you will know it because the light in the test light is ON. Your park lights will not drain very much at all by just being on 5 minutes or so after you turn car off. Something else is killing your battery, maybe you have a weak alternator or battery.
I had to re-read your post. I sort-of assumed that the park lights were working normally from your statement. Guess I should have asked did you ever go back and check them being on an hour later? That is surely a problem in that circuit

1993 Buick Park Avenue we had a dead battery so we removed and charged it. Now the Car won't start and when I put key in the ignition the security light starts flashing

Any car with a Factory Anti-Theft System does this whenever battery power is lost. If your owners manual doesn't address this, you will have to contact a GM Dealer to get the system reset. Sorry!

Security light blinks car won't start disconnected the battery used a different key still won't start

need to reprogram the security system. turn the key to start position then to run . let the key stay on until the light stops flashing. repeat these steps 3 times then the car should start if there is not a problem with the pass-lock sensor in the ignition switch or the BCM( body control module).

My 2001 oldsmobile alero will not start, I put gas and it would not crank over. Then the security light started flashing so I turned the key to the on poistion and was waiting 10 minutes and during that...

im just gonna take a stab in the dark here i understand that your security light is on try unlocking your door with your key sometimes you just need to reset the security. otherwise ive seen a security module go bad that may be preventing you from starting it.
