If its a diesel engine then their is a relay/timer box but this is a petrol so iam at a loss as to weither this is a code reader fault reading the fault as i have two code readers and cannot get into a ford of this age it will only read the vin number so iam at a loss as to either a cab heater fault which i cannot see throwing the engine light on or the autochoke sensor because all these code readers give the answer in good old american and we all know they cannot spell colour correctly or pronounce aluminium.Bless them no go for the engine autochoke sensor and check that out first but the main cause of the light on with a ford of this year is the O2 sensor their are two wires the same colour out of the four wires now disconnect the socket and check for a continuety on the sensor side of the socket and if no continuety then renew the sensor if a check shows continuety the check the opposing plug socket and check for a 12v supply .Hope this helps and sorry i cannot pronounce aluminium or know the difference between a saturn or a windstar and think all nissans are diesel ,red face on my part here but iam a brit living in spain .

You need to check for codes to begin with. If no codes then we can start guessing. A code is pretty strait forward. Without a code, hands on will be the only way to diagnose this issue.

Ford fiesta engine light

If the engine light is on then your ECU has detected a fault. Either in the engine or another system. You can buy a cheap reader at the parts store. They are good for active codes and resetting the Engine light. But not for codes stored in the history. Depending on which reader you buy, you may or may not be able to read Transmission, ABS, Body Control, or Air-Bag codes. Professional readers are very expensive so you may want to let a mechanic read it (get a price first). Do some research before you decide.

1.4 lite 3 door enjien management light flashing

When the service engine soon light (Also called the check engine light) is turned on this is to alert you to the fact that powertrain control module (computer) has detected a failure somewhere in the systems it controls, this can be the transmission or the engine or emission system, there are fault codes set in the modules memory for these faults. What needs to happen now is to have the powertrain control module scanned with a special tool called an OBD2 electronic engine control scanner or a OBD2 code reader. Once the code(s) are read then you must perform the diagnostics for each code and make the appropriate repairs based on the findings of the diagnosis that was performed, this is called doing "Pinpoint" testing.

Ford fiesta 2003 orange light shape of engine on dash light won't go out WHY? I think it may be to do with emissions

that would be the check engine light.

It comes on to alert you that the computer has detected a fault with a sensor, device it controls, or system it monitors.

The first thing you will need to do is check for codes. you have three options.

1. buy a code reader. They are available anywhere that sells automotive related parts and supplies. You can find an inexpensive one for about $50.

2. call you local auto parts store. Many times they will check codes for free. DO NOT BUY ANYTHING THEY RECOMMEND!

3. Bring the vehicle to your local dealer or service facility and have them run a diagnostic test. For a fee they will check for codes and diagnose the reason for the code being set.

If you decide on option 1 or 2 post the code(s) and I'll be happy to help you further.

Engine man light flickering and car has lost power and is juddering.Ford focus 1.6 petrol 54reg

There is probably a sensor failure or other fault. When the engine management light is on, the ECU goes into get you home mode. I suggtes scanned the PCM to know what fault code is stored there and (with this code number) we could send additional details.

Keep in touch.

Please note the car is ia fiesta not focus( it is not listed in the listing) ford fiesta 1.4 petrol year 52 engine failure / rebuild head various dtc faults cleared ignition is coming on but car...

The code U1262 point out a communication fault between the vehicle modules and a scanner. It may be best to visit your local dealer to find if one of the vehicles control modules has failed. In some cases this can be as simple as a blown fuse, but there is always a reason for a fuse to blow
and a oil sending circuit fail. would need to be tested.
P1000 DTC code is a manufacturer specific trouble code. your code reader is not reading or communicating correctly you will need to check the fuses for all the modules and check the connections on the plugs and the units to check the modules to see if they have good contact. also check the main earth from the battery to the shell and make sure the contact is good.

Ford Fusion 04 Engine Management Light

I had a 2002 model 1.4 Fiesta, same problem Engine management light or ECA, electronic accelaration Control (EAC), it needs a ford dealer to do a computer diagnostic, most likely that it will need replaced.

Mt friend who is a mechanic for ford said that it was a common factory fault and is very common in 1.4 zetec /duratec petrol models.

I now have a 2007 Fusion and was quick to see if this problem had been sorted on this model, and it has!!

Hope this helps!!
