This can only be cleared by a OBDII scanner. Your mechanic will have one. Otherwise the light should go out after a certian number of starts without the problem being present.

Check engine light came on vehicle shut down,Nissan Wingroad Y11,on checking with tech it showed Air flow censer, changed it drove about 50metres light came back on car stutter shut down. help

First inspect the boot from sensor to the intake manifold for cracks, inspect all the vacuum hoses to the intake.
second unplug the connector and inspect the terminal.Sometimes the plastic is burn and the wire pusht out of terminal. insert the wire all the way in or replace the pigtail.
plug scanner and monitor the air flow and air temperature on live data.
inspect the wire harness for damage to engine ground.
good luck

Misfire on 2 and 5

Hi Paula,

You didn't mention if you changed the plug wires.

You mentioned replacing the camshaft sensor. Have you checked the Crankshaft Position Sensor? Or the Mass Air Flow Sensor (may need cleaning)? Or the Throttle Position Sensor?

Check engine light 1999 Pontiac 150,000 Mass air Flow code was posted on MT2500 Snapon scanner replaced the Censor now code for lean bank one shows ,replaced fuel filter checked Vacumn shows 20 what do...

replace the mass airflow sensor.. try used they normally will not need to be calibrated or programmed to the car. New ones cost more and are harder to get working. (and new ones cannot be returned.. used ones always work best for me..

Ses light on code po102 and po171 2000 buck lesabre

Have 2000 Buick Lesabre custom every time car gets up to operating temp. the engine misses going down the road , also let car sit and idle and it shuts off after about 2 minutes , my code reads PO171 system to lean bank 1, changed co2 censor, mass air flow censor, plug wires, and plugs.

Jaguar x type 51 plate. Engine Management Light ON, ABS light on. Drove over a bird on motorway, couldn't be avoided without causing accident. Seemed to hit underside next to passenger front wheel

i have x-type 2.0D 2004 last couple of weeks the engine management light has been illuminated i took it to my regular mechanic who did a dianostic check and found it to be the air flow meter which he replaced and the code was cancelled a day later the light came back on again, so i took it back he took another reading and it came back as the same fault so he cancelled the code again, but the light has come back on and although this is annoying it hasn't deteriorated the performance

try looking at the mass air flow censor as well it is one of them thats doing this,,you could hook it up and read the fult codes that way it should take you right to it,

Check engine light

No the light is fine its the computer or there is a intake leak somewhere causing the mass air flow sensor to not work correctly, also a cracked hose may be giving a false reading. Get a mechanic to test it with a voltmeter and ohmmeter using a vacuum gauge to make sure it is the mass air flow sensor

Could check engine light's indicate something minor?

ususlly its something small it also could be that the car has been sitting a while in the car yard you could try disconnecting the battary for 30mns and then reconnecting this some times unscrsmbles the ecu causing the problem good luck

Check engine light on

P0101 : Mass air flow censor, Air intake is blocked or the sensor is nackered.
P0172: System too rich bank 1. There's too much fuel, probably to do with the air fuel mix. If you sort the air flow meter that'll sort the two.
