Question about 1992 Mazda 929

1 Answer

929 Mazda (1992) No Heat But A/C Works I have a 929 Mazda 1992 year. Does not blow any heat. I noted that the 30 amp fusible link for the heater was busted. Replaced it but still no heat. A busted fuse means an electrical overload occurred somewhere, what do I need to look at to I.D. the problem? I have change a little heat filament up inside the blower and I have changed the heater control unit on the dashboard. My suspect the heater core but I need some help before I full this care apart. The heater core blows air. The heater core blows when the A/C works. When the heater is turned on it just blows cold air. This means that the motor on the heater core is working. All of this make me think that no coolant from the engine is not reaching the heater core. I tried to find the heater valve but could not find it. I was thinking that this valve is closes and is not allowing the hot coolant to get to the heater core. If the heater core is blocked or not getting any coolant, what are my options? Both the top and bottom radiator hoses get hot as they supposed to which means that the thermostat is working.

First check your fluid in your radiator if its low your heater will not work. Check all your heater hoses and make sure they are not kinked.
Your heater core may be plugged That will stop the heat flowing as well. If it's the heater core it will have to come out and replaced most likely. Not sure if there is a heater valve on that car.

SOURCE: I can't find my fuel pump 1993 mazda 929

The electric fuel pump is an in-tank type.

It's sitting on top of the gas tank.

You will need to carefully drain the gas and drop the tank to do the job.

Make you you order the fuel strainer (sock filter) for the pump.
======
I you want to positive ID the exact location then empty out you trunk and with KEY ON and no start.........listen for a light electric motor noise.

1992 Dodge Dakota 2wd 3.9L V6 Air conditioning/Heater dosent blow? when i turn the air or the heat on i can hear the compressor kick on but it dosen't blow cold or hot? any help would be appreciated

Roger it sounds like the blower motor is not comming on. There is a resistor network located in the engine compartment on the passenger side mounted to the firewall, that controlls the blower motor. The connections may have corroted or the unit itself is bad. That was the first thing I had to relpace when I got my used 92 Dakota. There is also a 30 amp fuse in the fuse box under the dash board . If that is blown I would suspect the blower motor is seized up or just pulling too much power.

Replaced thermostat and did a radiator flush still blows cold

feel the heater hoses with engine warm. if one is much warmer than the other , it indicates a plugged heater core. remove the heater hoses and you can usually flush it iut with aq garden hose. if they are both warm, on the other hand, check the blend door operation on the heater box.

Getting heater to work. Fan runs and it cools well. Has Climate control

15 years old, maybe your heater core is bad, no heat transfer from the coolant to the core, hence none from the core to your interior. Have it checked, usually a pain to replace as the dash has to come out to get at it.

I have A 1992 Mazda 929 theres a light on the dash that flashes when I get gowing around 30 mph it says HOLD what dose it mean ?

It could be that you need a transducer repair or replacement. Either way it is the signal from the dash not being received at the transmission if you are not able to remove it manually at the gear change thumb button.

I have a 1992 Mazda 929 with the passenger side low-beam headlight out. What is the easiest way to access the bulb to replace it?I realize this is elementary to most.

You'll need a 10" socket, a rachet, & extension. Remove the bolts holding the head light & remove the head light housing. From there you can access & change the bulb. It only takes a few mins!

Underhood fuse block swap out relay #7 thats the ECM relay.
Ground Circuits Using a DVOM, touch negative voltmeter lead to a good ground. Touch positive voltmeter lead to each ground terminal. With vehicle running, voltmeter should indicate less than one volt. If reading is greater than one volt, check for open, corrosion and loose connection on ground lead. See ECM GROUND LOCATION table for ECM ground location.

Heating / Cooling System Malfunction

all mazda 929 have this problem when the coolant level is dropped
the heater core has no fluid in it since it ts off of the engine block . hence it cannot recive any coolant to heat the car. the best way to fix this is bleed the system of air . when filling coolant squezze the return hose with the cap on the rad it will force fluid bact to the core and push the air out
once you do this a few times you will see the rad fluid droped fill it up and run the car . this should solve this problem
