Question about 2002 Kia Spectra
Ok dizzydean, u need to have the engine codes read. Most parts stores will do this for free, and will explain what could be wrong. They will plug a scan tool into a plug under your dash to read codes stored in the cars computer.

When my engine light came on, Auto Zone scanned and got the code for "Throttle Position Sensor". I paid $600 to Kia to replace it
Within a week, the engine light came back on. This time: "Oh, there's a recall on that!" They fixed whatever and the light has never come back on.
Bottom line: Ask about recalls FIRST!
