Daytime running lights never come on, just hyigh beams.
Taking the fuse out with disconnect it from the other features. also turning the light out. the break has a release button either inside the vehicle under the cover or underneath the car. you will see the cable coming through and just look for where the cable changes. it will be a big difference from outside cable to where it transfers to inside cable.

yea sounds like the chime it self is bad if that happened. so swapping it out should take care of it.

is usually caused by the diode for the daytime running lights goin bad,its located under the drivers side of the dash to the right of the steering column,its a square aluminum heat sink(usually black) about 3" wide with just a small 2 wire plug goin to it,hope this helps
