THAT'S RIGHT, THE UPPER INTAKE MUST COME OFF TO REPLACE THE PLUGS. Get a new gasket for the intake at the dealer.

I am replacing the spark plugs in my 2006 mazda 3, 2.3 liter is it difficult just trying to get an idea

You need a deep socket, to fit the plugs, and a long extention with a universal drive. Change one at a time so they dont get mixed up.

There is oil on theads of spark plugs on 2005

The oil seal for the spark plugs may need replacing. This requires a little work. You need to take out the cover of the head. Normally you should see the seals underneath the cover just surrounding the holes.
