Abs light

There are times when the ABS light comes on! I have not got out the code reader yet! It has not caused any problems with the Braking, that I have noticed, but at times, when the light is Cleared and just prior to it coming on, I can feel some feedback thru my Gas pedal (Really Strange), must be sending something back thru the computer. What might be a simple fix or check for such a problem?

    Thanks for the Response.
I have checked all the pads within the past 5-6k Miles and they all had good meat left on them. I also just took a long trip, so prior to that, I did add just a little brake Fluid, just to the Full line, but there was plenty of fluid, was not too low.
I am not sure, but I am thinking there must be sensors at each wheel, I have not really looked before. I did notice below the Mater Cylinder, where the brake lines are connected, that there is a component, that I am Sure has to do with positioning of Fluid.
Hope it is not to difficult to correct, but just wanted to get some feedback of where I might Start and what Might give the indicator.
Also, if I do plug in a code reader, what might be the different codes!!

    Thanks!!

Automan73, How long has it been since you last had brake pads replaced on this vehicle? Sometimes when the brake pads begin to wear out to the point where the pad has gotten really thin some auto makers put sensors on the brake caliper it's self in order to warn you ahead of time that you need to have your brakes checked, This is what I like to call the two bird's with one stone thing, You get your brakes checked before the pad's wear so thin that your brake disc's are nothing more than metal on metal..Also some times it is as simple as checking your brake fluid level, Again in some auto makers there are sensors inside of the master cylinder as well in order to monitor your brakes fluid level, in order to keep you from letting your master cylinder run completely dry when the fluid gets to a certain level it will automatically turn on your brake light or your ABS, and sometimes both just to be sure you get to a mechanic to have the problem checked...So I would do those two pretty simple things before I took it to a shop that may just end up telling you that you needed brake pads and no telling what else and all you really needed was a little brake fluid or just needed to replace your brake pads...hope I was of some help...

SOURCE: Where are the spark plugs located in a 2005 Chrysler Pacifica?

I believe on that model the 3 front plugs are accessable from the front, but the rear 3 plugs you will need to get an upper plentum gaskit as well, because you need to remove the upper intake plentum to access the rear 3. I know it's a crappy set up, but that's how they make them nowadays. You're looking at about an hour's work to do it give or take.
Hope this helps!

Someone will need to scan the body computer for trouble codes to proceed. The ABS system uses the regular hydraulic brakes to function.

Simple as pie. Once you have the part in hand, You will see where it plugs in near the intake. Just follow it to the other end, remove and replace.

Should be a 10mm bolt holding it down, and to remove the plug, just press the retainer tab and pull out. New plug snaps right in.

2005 Chrysler town and country abs light on, but no trouble codes showing. car brakes seem to be fine.

We own a 2005 Chrysler Pacifica (3.8 litre) and currently have the same problem. This has happened at least 2 other times on our vehicle. Our trouble code was for a faulty ABS wheel sensor, and after searching the internet I found A LOT of other Pacifica owners had the same problem. The first time this happened to us, it was covered under the Chrysler warranty. The second time, it cost about $275 to repair. This is something that only a Chrysler / Dodge dealer can diagnose and repair. At first, we went to Firestone and they preceded to replace the brake pads, rotors, flushed the master cylinder and nothing they did seemed to work. Finally, I went to the Chrysler dealer and they immediately diagnosed the problem and fixed it. I am not sure if the computer will actually report a trouble code for the ABS problem or not. I will warn you that even though the brakes seem fine, eventually they WILL fail on you and you will have SIGNIFICANTLY reduced stopping power. Our light went on while we were down the interstate at 70 mph, and let me tell you that was a very scary situation with me, wife and two kids with NO CONTROL over how fast we could stop. Take your vehicle to the dealer and get fixed, it's not worth risking an accident. Good luck!

ABS light just came on yesterday in my 2005 Pacifica.

Hi,

The module that connects to the ABS pump (next to battery) to be the problem.

You can do yourself,

  • Remove the battery,
  • disconnect the large cable going to the ABS,
  • unclip the 3 brake line clips on the top of the fender so the ABS pump could be removed and swapped the electronic modules- did not have to penetrate the brake lines at all.

It may take 20 minutes.
Now you can Restart and ABS light would be off.
